I guess they're afraid of their upcoming capital gains tax increase. Either that or they are trying to flee angry WAMU investors, mortgage holders, or federal law enforcement.

They made up their minds
And they started packing
They left before the sun came up that day
An exit to eternal summer slacking
But where were they going without ever knowing the way?
They drank up the wine
And they got to talking
They now had more important things to say
And when the car broke down they started walking
Where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold
And its always summer, they'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and gray
You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere.
They won't make it home
But they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happy there today , today

The children woke up
And they couldnt find em
They left before the sun came up that day
They just drove off
And left it all behind em
But where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Is it bad that I still hold a grudge for his opposition to the monorail? Every time one of that bunch gets in trouble I feel like they had it coming. Magnuson and his killer crane, now Killenger running for the hills.

Now if only someone could tell me that Martin Selig was suddenly bankrupt in the commercial real estate meltdown. I could live off that for years.

(and btw - I really though Killenger lived on Federal Ave E)

They 'let them go'?

It brings to mind the image of the household staff in little cages and chains ala the employees in Lily Tomlin's fantasy in 9-5.

They (the staff) probably ran into the hills where they will eke out a living grubbing roots and sleeping under the trees.
