And to think, it all started with the fact that either Joe the Plumber was completely delusional about how much money he makes, or he hadn't bother to do the research about how his taxes would be affected by Obama's tax proposal.

Or (how could I forget this...), he was lying in order to attempt to make Obama look bad.

Some people criticize Joe the Plumber, but I think he's living the American dream - evading taxes, working without a license, and being a Republican plant.

Let's just call him Joe the Lying Dumbfuck and be done with it.

John McCain's been sucking Joe the Plumber's dick for over a week now. The guilt factor has to be in play.

Joe's a douche nozzle. I can't put it any other way. I hope his newfound political career finds him losing by a landslide.

You know he's only supporting McCain because he's white.

/yes, it's sarcasm

No mention of his decision to run for congress?

I think it's because McCain congratulated him for being rich.

I love this theme in the McCain campaign. It always happens like this:

1. McCain campaign draws attention to wingnut supporter to rally the base. (cf. Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber)
2. Media pounces on wingnut supporter, discovers closet full of skeletons.
3. Wingnut supporter shoots off his/her mouth to media, revealing gaping mental chasm of ignorance and crazy.
4. McCain campaign tries to rein in the crazy, hastily starts on damage control.
5. Liberals point and laugh. Conservative intellectuals vomit and cry. Undecideds don't get what all the fuss is about - they're still trying to figure out how their shoe laces work.

@7. You know, when I was in college in London, I briefly dated a guy who was a member of the Socialist Worker Party. I even went to a party meeting once. I definitely "carefully chose" him (due to the fact that he was wicked hot).

Does that make me a Socialist now? I think it must. Guess this kills any hope I had of ever running for office.

@7

I always thought that the reason the Stranger (and its audience) likes Obama is BECAUSE he IS a Marxist...

Exactly what part of "redistributing wealth in order to achieve a classless society" would this publication be opposed to?

I agree he's a jackass, but why do I keep reading his name isn't really Joe? Lots of people go by their middle name.

@13: my grandfather was a pretty dedicated Socialist- our family legends have him getting deported from Poland for it, although that's probably more of an exaggeration than fact. (My dad says he didn't move to Canada at the end of the 40s because he didn't want to sing God Save the Queen, though.) So clearly, I am also disqualified.

It's times like this I always wonder, "What does FOX Not-News have to say about this?"

Except, you know, like anybody else who's not a paid Republican shill, I don't.

Sam the Unlicensed Contractor and Tax Evader (soon to be a Republican Congressional candidate near you, naturally!) should mate with Palin to breed an entire generation of know-nothing, corrupt, snake-handling liars. At this rate, that may be the only way to guarantee a future for the Republican party.

Dammit!! Why did he wait so long to speak out? I already mailed my ballot in (Oregon) and now can't change it.

Was it long profound deliberation of the issues? Did McCain offer him Chief of Staff considering his wealth of foreign and domestic affairs knowledge? sheesh, if only I had known.

This news item about a study of hubris helps explain Joe the Plumber, Tim Eyman and most of the far-right.
