Yet sometimes he gropes his way to the truth and spits it out for all to see. And there you are, seeing this big, huge ugly truth lying there on the floor in front of everyone and looking at the man that just spat it out. "Did that come out of him?" you ask. It did! *glorp!* That's the sound of the unlooked-for truth boiling up out of the black maw of Chris Matthews. Whodathunkit? Not me, that's for sure.

Maybe it's because of my liberal sensibilities, but I was pretty appalled at how he handled this topic. Tactful, he is not.

He has really been strong lately with Michelle Bachmann the most recent example of calling a right wing tool on their bull. Unfortunately there is a risk involved if he goes to the left too aften - he won't get these fools on as guests.

But there does seem to be a rise in journalism all around. CNN (Campbell Brown) was just on Stewart plugging a 'tougher, non-partisan' show. Katie Couric seems to have found her voice too - hopefully they use her more in a 60 minutes type role and phase out the 'neutral newsreader' role. I just hope the ratings support this kind of reporting.

I don't care if Obama wins because of "White Guilt", just as long as he gets elected.

And for those of you who don't get Matthews and think he's a schmuck--well, I agree he's a schmuck, but keep in mind, he's a Philly guy.
