Slog - Comments on Washington State Poll: This Time Obama Wins

You may recall that after the first presidential debate, Survey USA released a poll of Washington State adults that found people here believing, by a small margin, that McCain was the winner. (The finding stood in stark contrast to most post-first-debate national polls, which found respondents, by considerable margins, believing that Obama had won.) After the second presidential debate tonight, Survey USA again polled Washington State adults, and this time found them in sync with the national polls. 54% say Obama was the clear winner. 29% say McCain was the clear winner. 18% say there was no clear winner. That's...

SurveyUSA is also the group that did the recent poll blaming Pro Prop 8 shifts on the youth demographic. I dunno, but the lame "ZOMG CHURCHES WILL GET SUED AND TAXES AND PROTECTIONS" ads Yes on 8 is running in CA don't scream of youth conversion. Neither does their feet-on-the-ground door-to-door campaign. Their recent polls and conclusions have been strange indeed.

Republicans are realizing that their team is getting its collective ass whupped, and they don't seem to have any clear strategies left for scoring in the game.

It's still a long way until Nov. 4, but the Dems own the field right now, with nothing but power on the bench. That huge cheering crowd doesn't hurt, either.

Fuck yes. Finally.

Not "really all that different in tone and content"? I noticed at least three things McCain said that were *identical* to what he'd said in the first thing, the stupid "looked into Putin's eyes & saw three letters" thing was one of them. Except for a couple of the questions, it was pretty much darn the same.

I just want to point out that said move was first made famous by Curly Howard of the Three Stooges.

Know your history, people! Comedy did not begin with The Simpsons.

Carry on. ;)
