I'd say that Dave Ross is the best thing on KIRO. TBTL is second only to Dori Monson for the worst.

So, does this mean we can harangue you verbally, as well as literarily?

Too bad that TBTL STEALS all their material from other shows.

Sorry, Comte, but we already taped it this afternoon. And you'll be pleased to know that my brain was so fried with thinking about unions all week that, at one point, I drifted into a stunned silence when trying to articulate the problem.

But never fearówe'll have our union-specific Shitstorm soon and you can harangue to your heart's content.

For a sec I thought you were referring to a 10 Things zine article.

If you weren't so attractive, I bet you wouldn't have a job.

Unions are socialist. I hate you people.

I agree TBTL is a sweet show. Jen & Luke are wonderful together, a thoughtful, humanistic (and unpredictable) refuge in these, ahem, dark times.

And in contrast, IMO, Dori Monson, snarky & reactionary, inhabits the bottom of the barrel.

Jeebuz, Brendan - way to backtrack on points 1 - 3 - so far.

Let's see, so the "five year ban on Shakespeare" is really, "let's deconstruct Shakespeare more" and "not kiss the Bard's ass so much"

And "tell us something we don't know already" is really, "let's not be so New York-centric";

And "Produce dirty, fast & often" becomes, "do more crazy shit, like Implied Violence".

Can't wait to hear how you spin points four through ten go...

Oh man, you're going to have to hussle to get through the next six - less than 30 minutes to go - and another commercial break.

Ah, Patrick Warburton - love that voice...

Wow, skipped right over old #5 there - Yeah, Ikea is a "cult", got it. Never leave my kids there, even if they HAVE daycare. And you think leaving them with THEATRE PEOPLE would be BETTER?!? Why not just put a copy of "Das Kapital" or "The Anarchist's Cookbook" in their pudgy little hands, while you're at it.

#6: zoooooom - Completely missed whatever THAT was about.

#7: Oh, c'mon - name three theatre venues in this town that DON'T SERVE FUCKING ALCOHOL! Just three! Please!

Okay, - FUCKING der-der-derrrr!

#8: "Rocky Horror" is a terrible example - people don't MESS with "Rocky Horror" they do exactly what the ROCKY FUCKING HORROR PEOPLE TELL THEM TO. I've been yelled at in foreign languages by RFHP for doing things that would be considered pretty standard in the U.S., but has apparently never been seen in Hamburg before.

#9: What exactly is NOT working about the relationship between unions and theatres? The fact that unions ensure theatres that enter into Collective Bargaining Agreements pay living wages? Are you seriously trying to arguing AGAINST that? Just because poverty is an inevitability for SOME doesn't mean it MUST be for EVERYONE. I do not begrudge any single actor, artisan, or administrator who can make a full-time living in this business. But, I don't expect THEM to go into poverty simply because someone else isn't earning a living - I expect them to find more ways to allow even MORE people earn a decent living in this business.

#10: Okay, not bad advice. Probably even good advice. Great, one out of ten.

I'm not listening to you drabble on about Twyla Tharp - "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" calls...

And thus ends this evenings' Live Slog...
