I grew up having a huge crush on Teri Garr, won over by her movie roles and her recurring guest appearances on Letterman. A little while ago I read this delightful interview in the Onion and it reminded me of how awesome she is.

This posted after the film's start time, fyi. But now I want to watch my Black Stallion DVD. Fun fact: When I was six, I went as the Black Stallion for Halloween. My "boyfriend" went as a cowboy. You can imagine our mothers' consternation.

This seems like a description of a nice classic movie...however, since this is SLOG, I have to assume there's some kind of gay obsession with Mickey Rooney or "black stallions" or both or something else that I'm not hip enough to grok a reference for.

OR ... You could go to the final performance of Holcombe Waller's world premiere of Through the Dark Unknown: The Hope Chest at On the Boards. I'm surprised that The Stranger hasn't covered the work of this Portland singer-songwriter more. He's terrific.

was infact only recently well outside the means within which the method of dialing up dialing down cable channels of remembrance would neatlty bring about a place where we would watch together in groups of friends and families, classic film treasures of bye-gone eras such as

National Velvet and Urban Cowboy...

and your pick for the SIFF showcase is in doubled down mirth I might add,

'reverently considerate' for the aging Auntie's and friends who "no doubt", would love to pinch your cheek , and

Without the enlightened brilliance of your young mind, I would surely be caught up in the fears of the flesh, and the problematic theocratic mumblings of solving stories and none such passages in time reading through the dictionary for large words of infinate meaning within selective context,

and of course,

now and again intercepting the astral plane projections at night from the early morning hours as if they were tuned frequencies in the 5 billion light-year star search contest to trickle up the mineral rights of safe deposits in bank and gifted to the poor from note tending by runaway pirates.
