onDefamer celebrates the latest and greatest candidate for the worst product-placement press release in history: Could a Bedside Shotgun Rack Have Saved Jennifer Hudson’s Family from Tragic Death?
Whether it is someone known or a stranger entering the home, too many people in this country are paying with their lives during home invasions. The Hudson family is just one of far too many Americans gunned down in their own home.Shotguns are often weapons of choice at home because of their deterrent effect on assailants, their close-range stopping power, their affordability and their reduced risk of injury to innocent others from stray shot. But the problem is storing them in a place where you don’t have to turn your back on your assailant. Propped in the corner or under the bed takes valuable time to get to, and could cost you your life.
But now there is a solution. The BackUp makes them easily accessible during a time of need. Racked between the mattresses, The BackUp offers immediate access to the homeowner’s shotgun: in the hands, cocked and ready to defend in 2 seconds.
I take back everything bad I’ve ever said about you, Mucinex mucus family.

Yeah, every household with a seven-year-old in it needs to have a loaded shotgun in an easily accessible place at all times. Safety First!
"I travel a lot for business or hunting. Is The Back-Up© portable?
Yes The Back-Up© is very light and portable. The unique patented design and construction gives you the ability to collapse it easily for travel, and place it wherever you need it."
Yes I often bring my shotgun on business trips. What do you ask?
Vomit. Tasteless isn't a strong enough word.
Just puts those shotguns within easy reach of your home assailant to turn on you.
But it is absolutely typical of the gun nut lobby, whose pricks harden at every bit of crime news. Sexy hot talk about "stopping power", calibers, weapons handling, access and firepower is sure to follow.
Arrgh. sed '/yes/s/what/why/'
Jennifer Hudson who?
and does it discharge when you're fucking hard on the bed or when your kids jump on our bed?

"NOTE: We had to change the online version of this press release because of a large number of complaints."
That thing's awesome if you're The Punisher.
It's not such a good idea if you're Joe Sixpack though. Someone's just gonna lose a leg in that case.
watch the vid under the press page. fox news ran a story on it.
@ the 3:27 mark the annoying fox anchor woman says that the reason units are moving so fast is because the back up is "using the right internet access." wtf?
That would sure come in handy when the police storm in during a no-knock raid.
This is what I've never understood about keeping guns in the house for "security" purposes. If you have kids, you're supposed to keep the unloaded guns locked up, with the ammo separate, right? But, if someone has broken into your house, how long is it going to take you to unlock the guns and ammo and load?
I think I should just stop expecting people to logical about stuff like this.
The rack will be really helpful if you are the subject of a no-knock warrant. The police love seeing firearms when they break down doors.
I prefer the .45 under the pillow.
