Officials say Mark Louviere, 51, was walking past a soccer game in the yard at the Newton Correctional Facility in August when one of the participants collapsed. Louviere reportedly helped medical staff perform CPR.

Louviere pleaded guilty in August 2007 to several meth-related charges. His tentative release date is in 2052.

Corrections officials say acts of heroism, such as saving a life, can reduce an inmate's prison time. They say Louviere received 30 days off his remaining sentence.

Wow. Just wow.

Hey kids, think your mom or dad might be crazy enough to hire a drug-sniffing dog to check out your room while you're away at school? Here's a fun trick: miniscule amounts of the black, tarry resin you clean out of your pipe or bong, mixed with ordinary shoe-polish, applied to an inconspicuous corner of your parents' favorite pair of shoes. It can even go on the bottom of the sole, it doesn't matter. Just enough so that a dog could smell it but a normal human can't. Experiment to get the mix right (do this part away from your room, preferably out in the garage or elsewhere.)

Then, when the dogs come in, they won't leave your mom's shoes alone! It's even better if she's wearing them at the time. Hours of fun for the whole family.

Caution: Use only if you're pretty sure your parents are the kind of paranoid freaks who would actually do this. Do not attempt if they are planning on walking through an airport or any other controlled space sometime in the foreseeable future.

As a Masshole, I can't wait to vote to decriminalize marijuana.

And as a former Masshole I'm proud of my former home state. From same sex marriage to drug laws Massachusetts shows the rest of the country what actual common sense can look like.

Don't forget Joe McCain, John McCain's brother, calling 9-1-1 today cause he was upset that he, rich as he was, was stuck in a traffic jam.

DEFINITELY DRUGS.

Either that or severe anger management problems ...

Regarding the third story: nnnnoooo, now he has one _less_ anti-obesity drug. But according to Ads By Google, he does have four more kinds of anti-obesity snake oil.

@4... seriously, wow.

How do meth charges add up to 45 years in prison? And he only gets 30 days knocked off for saving the guy's life??

@ 13

Exactly my thought. 45 years seems excessive to begin with- but only knocking off a month for saving a guy's life? Harsh!
