That's the gayest thing I've ever seen. The pacing, the feet, the waving, the little smile, the chin hair closeup.
The guy with the camera actually should have called the police.
At least he didn't try to handcuff VP Cheney ...
Answer the first shove with a hard punch to the throat, and then call the police.
That's why I'm not qualified to be a political operative.
I would've broken his ugly nose
What a douchebag.
Magneto was right.
Those guys have flag pins. They are Real Americans. Not like the liberal terrorist media fags.
@4 excactlly. as soon as he comes forward, a quick chop to the throat and sweep him and than call the police. u have video proof that he assaulted u. is all good in da hood and he will be eating ice cream for a week.
At least the thug had the decency to trim his nose hair.
My high blood pressure is acting up again...
That's a Democratic staffe, not a Democrat staffer. ("Democrat" is what Republicans call the Democratic party.)
Please change "Democrat" to "Democratic." We don't need to be encouraging the stupid right-wing word games.
"You got too much mouth on you." Did that dude really say that? Wow. That is a good line. Especially from such a knucklehead.
What thugs. BTW, my Obama lawn sign was stolen. WTF?
that gave me an erection
@4:
The only problem with your tactic is that it would inevitably resulted in a massive beat-down of the staffer by an angry mob of GOPers intent on protecting their own.
This guy handled the situation just right IMO; he got it all recorded, he didn't make any aggressive or threatening moves of his own to give the assailant a chance to plead some B.S. mitigating circumstances, and he was able to walk away without any broken bones or ruptured organs.
Bummer for that guy...he never made the football team and can't be a cop due to a couple of DUI's way back when but he can be useful. This goon can push people around on behalf of the GOP! yay!! GO team!
@16 sometimes it's worth getting punched a few times.
What skinny said.
He should have defended himself, or called the police—who had to have representatives nearby, this being a public gathering requiring a permit and all. By not seeing this goon arrested or beaten, he allowed the goon to accomplish to goals: one, to get away with a crime and, two, to prevent him from completing his assignment. Just getting the goon on tape—unless that was his real assignment—really isn't enough.
@16 not really. a chop to the throat and a quick sweep of the left foot and he is down. get your cell phone out and u can than run and avoid the beat down by the other guys in suits, though i hardly doubt they would have done anything. the problem with not doing anything when someone comes at u is that you dont know if he is going to sucker punch u or simply push u, so dont take a chance. if he sucker punches u, youre on the ground and completely at their mercy. if he is exposed take a shot and than run. is not being macho. is just common sense. always avoid confrontation, but not if theyre pushing u.
Is that Greg Kinnear!?
@21 - having served on a jury for an assault case, I would recommend NOT hitting the throat or face - basically you want to avoid anything that could recklessly cause substantial bodily harm unless your life is really in danger. Throat chops might be a bit overboard in response to shoving.
A good gut punch or moderate kick to the balls would suffice.

They just posted an additional video of this, along with some information (or rather, refusal to provide information) from Congressman Hulshof
From the youtube video description:
More footage is now available of the assault on a Democratic Party employee at a Republican Party rally for Congressman Kenny Hulshof, renewing their call for action by the Congressman.
A video compilation of further incidents of assault are now available online at:
Clearly, this is a disturbed individual who appears to be a political staffer at the Congressmans rally. Congressman Hulshof owes it to the people of Missouri to personally condemn the abhorred actions that took place at his rally. Congressman Hulshof and his campaign have the power to help identify this person, but refuse. The Congressman should do what is in his power to identify this troubled individual, said Zac Wright, Missouri Democratic Party spokesman.
Confronted with footage of the incident earlier today, Congressman Hulshof was personally silent while his campaign failed to take any responsibility for the assault that took place at his rally.
Passions are running high.
