Wow, that's fantastic. I saw part of the interview, and the ineptitude on part of both McCain and Palin was staggering. They're both really bad at this.

Here's the thing, though: that stupid AP poll is starting to get some play. Every news website highlights it. Here in Cincinnati -- and in many other places, I imagine -- the local newscasters are saying "polls show the race tightening." I'm afraid that might start to build some momentum for these two losers, particularly among the "undecideds." Am I just another paranoid, glass-half-empty Democrat?

I understand that expectations don't play a part in the general nearly as much as they do in a primary, but I do worry about the perception that McCain has already lost gaining too much traction. I fear the sympathy vote.

I mean look at South Dakota. By all rights that should have belonged to Obama. It was one of two states at the end and as such was massively staffed, not to mention the fact that it's Daschle's home turf and he has played an integral role in Obama's campaign. At the time of SD's primary Obama had the nomination locked up.

I'm convinced that Hilary won because of a swell in sympathy votes.

Back to the interview - On Rachel Maddow, Brian Williams hinted at what we will see in the upcoming segments to be aired on NBC News - apparently Palin misunderstood a question and supplied a correction afterward. Goodies will trickle out like the Couric interview segments...

If you look closely at Palin, you can see she's questioning he belief in God. Painful to watch, really.

The irony is that Palin is my only reason for believing in God. But her fake asshole god and my One True God are far different.

This, coupled with reading the part of the New York Times Sunday magazine article about McCain's selection of Palin, make me downright gleeful.

You know, when the XFL failed, I thought, huh, I guess it is actually possible to underestimate the intelligence of the average American. And, now, I'm feeling much the same way. McCain's Palin gambit utterly, completely failed. And I couldn't be happier about it...

Forget whether or not they looked comfortable. Did anyone pay attention to what she was saying in that clip? That it's dangerous to proclaim that you're going to sit down and talk about the issues with someone with whom you have a disagreement? Are they serious?
