Not surprised by the short term rise in home sales. But it won't last.
Nothing on DC Metro starting random bag searches on public transit? Maybe King County Metro should start that? You know, another step towards totalitarian rule!
@ 1 - it sounds like the guy who died was the guy who had the van and the station wagon filed with junk in the parking lot underneath the building.
@ 1) Thanks, I added it to the news.
RE: "Computer error" - fuck that. How many times, in how many places, do we need to see evidence of fraud and vote tampering before we acknowledge that there is a conspiracy to disenfranchise voters?
So according to that article, the fire started last night at 6:20 p.m. Why did it take 13 hours to battle this incredible blaze?
Godd hlep teh Unnited Satates of Amerca is Barrack Husien Ossama is electted.
@6, The article made a mistake, it was this morning at 6:20.
Why is the beginning (and it looks like both the beginning, AND the end credits of a particular show) of All Creatures Great and Small terrifying?
Turtle suits in Seattle City Hall? That is so, like, 1999. Please post the intro to a truly frightening TV show, namely, Little House On The Prairie.
Wow. The 89-year-old man was killed by fire after living there 40 years, and was facing eviction this morning for refusing to move out to make way for the bulldozers.
@9, it's terrifying because they didn't drive off the stone bridge and end in a fiery crash, thus allowing the series to continue.
@11: Capitol Hill meet Detroit. Detroit, welcome to Capitol Hill.
But, really...you're a bit early Detroit. Devil's Night is Thursday. THURRRRRSDAY.
Obama and Billdawg campaigning together.
Guess Obama thinks he will help -- guess he will help -- good.
Gee, did Kerry or Gore go around in the last week with Billdawg?
Aren't you glad Obama is smarter than them?
Unity y'all--
But Microsoft has tools and platforms (Visual Studio, .NET Framework, Silverlight, IIS, ASP.NET etc) to develop cloud computing and services which Google doesn't have.
I know MS bashing is hip, but it isn't always accurate.
Ugh. Because of those "computer errors" I have volunteered to canvas for GOTV on Saturday. I was on the fence about canvassing, but I'm so pissed that I wanna be out there telling people in person that their vote counts and not to be deterred.
@15: All of those products you listed are fighting for marketshare in hotly contested markets.
The *development* of cloud computing isn't what the coming boom is about. It's the marketing/selling of it to consumers, and the best MS has on that front right now is Mesh, which is decent, but ultimately a losing strategy.
@17: It's about both isn't it? It's about developing AND marketing - not only for MSFT but for a community of developers and companies that use these tools. You can't have one without the other.
That show used to weird me out as a kid as it had Peter Davison in it right after he stopped being Doctor Who. I always expected a frikkin Dalek to pop out when he was helping birth a calf.
All Creatures Great And Small? Jesus. I remember when mom and dad would watch that. I wish that there was a clip of how that series began: James Herriot with his entire arm up the ass (?) of a cow. I think that was the last day I wanted to be a vet.
You're implying that a neighborhood activist appealing the redevelopment plans is somehow to blame for the fire?
Dominic, you're getting real close to your shark-jumping moment.
And Senator Ted Stevens, Guilty on All Counts, yippee!!!
