It's unfortunate that Colin Powell has so compromised himself that his endorsement means very, very little.

God, fuck Mel Martinez.

I think most people will see Powell's endorsement as 'black guy closing ranks' I don't see how he has all that much credibility anymore on the right or the left.

The one I was waiting for was Chuck Hagel which might actually mean something in Nebraska. It's been really quiet on that front lately. I suspect Dick Lugar has now passed him as the most likely Republican in Obama's cabinet.

Um, nope. To most Americans Colin Powell is a trusted figure with cred on security and his endorsement will help Obama. To those for whom he's compromised, they are already for Obama. So your logic is dumb.
But go ahead and repeat your statement a milllion times I am sure that helps make you think it's true, just like those chain e mails (I saw one just now) in which our secret plan to install a Muslim in the White House so we can let OBL come on over and take over our nation is discussed. Whatever you want to believe, it's true, ok?

inshallah-

Chuck Hagel is NOT popular in Nebraska, or at least not among the neanderthal vote - which represents about 75% of the state. They think he "wimped out" on the war, and that he's a liberal.

Never mind that it's liberals that keep those wingnuts on their land.....

Oh, come on, PC. Colin "WMD" Powell's credibility isn't compromised? Please. He testified in front of the UN and the world that Saddam had WMDs and likely nukes too. That wasn't merely false or incorrect. He was a major influence in getting congress to buy into the war. The White House knew it was bullshit. He knew it was bullshit. He was one of the major players bullshitting us into a war. I'd say his credibility is compromised.

I won't say his endorsement is worthless. He surely has some supporters, and he still retains some credibility among some people. His endorsement will probably sway a few voters into the Obama column. If nothing else, it will eat up a few news cycles with more bad news for McCain, which is always helpful.

But to suggest his credibility isn't compromised is ridiculous. His endorsement would make a whole lot more difference if he lied to the UN, and us.

Hm, so McSame is claiming millions of small donations to Obama's campaign are now suspect - because THERE WERE SO MANY OF THEM? I've little doubt but that if the GOP donation roles were scrutinized with equal perspicacity that a few joke names would show up as well.

McSame is going to ride this horse all the way to Nov 4th, namely, he'll blame his loss on the fact his opponent "reneged" on a "promise" to accept public financing, and if only he had been able to spend MORE money (a strategy for which he is now criticizing Obama), then surely, he would have won.

Because, you know, when Rethugs can tap into the wallets of corporate fat cats like an alcoholic at a kegger, then everything goes their way.

By all means CHECK THOSE REGISTRATIONS and if they are missing or "inactive," you have ONE MORE DAY (tomorrow) to go to the county elections office in your county IN PERSON and correct the situation in time to vote November 4.

Please make a note of it.

"Where I come from, where I was raised, they tried wealth redistribution,” Martinez said. “We don't need that here, that's called Socialism, Communism, not Americanism."

Americanism? I guess he means Capitalism? It's hard to tell, because he's clearly an idiot.

Colin Powell, a black man, endorsed Obama because he is a black man, too.

That's the only possible reason for this.

Colin Powell is a racist, as are other blacks who vote for Obama.
