Huh. That article on Clinton also said she doesn't want to be Senate majority leader. That's interesting... I always thought she would be a great majority leader.

I would take HRC statements with a grain of salt. Remember, when elected to Senate Obama promised he would serve out his term, then broke that promise within about 2 years. Becuase of the urgency of now, you see.....

all politicians do this, it's no big deal to wriggle out of statements that you don't see runing again you have no plans etc.

It's often the best way to start running again, too. What is she supposed to say "well shit yeah if Obama totally flops which I assume will happen I'll take him on in 2012?" "Oh if he's in for eight years I'm promising right now to challenge Biden?"

If she says "well I'm pretty exhaused right now, but you never konw do you?" then that promotes 15 follow up questions and a headline "Clinton plans to run again" which would (a) take media off message right now in terms of getting OBama in there or (b) actually totally hurt her chances.

Like any pol she makes real decisions when they have to be made and she doens't gotta make this decision right now.

Let 'em go ask Biden, too see waht he says. "Oh yes I'm planning on running in 8 years"--would not help him right now.

I'll mock anyone for excessive makeup, thank you--politician or Sally Sixpack, male or female for that matter.

As a straight male, I have an interest in the ideal of feminine beauty being, you know, actually beautiful (or at least not repulsive).

@2, @3: The Canadian election wasn't quite the Conservative victory it might look like. Harper wanted a outright majority in parliament so he could ram his programs through, and he didn't get one and now more than one Canadian is blaming Harper for calling a frivolous election.
