The Mad Dash

posted by on October 7 at 15:05 PM

Two emails, one a plea for help and one a triumphant announcement, both sent from the front lines of debate-watch-scrambling. First the triumphant announcement:

Hi, Eli

I’m the super elite chick from yesterday. I just called the Owl n Thistle and they said they’d put the debate on. Sure to be less insane than Spitfire. Nothing formal, definitely more dive-y, but conveniently located for sure. Also, there will be at least two single hetero liberal ladies there so alert the masses!

And now, the plea:

I’m in a predicament. I don’t get out of work until 6:15, and I wont be home (by bus) until 7:00. Tonight throws me a curve ball, I have a Zune. It has a radio BUT it only has FM. I know I can easily listen in through AM but alas, Microsoft has decided to forgoe the other half of radio by, well, ignoring it’s existence. In short, do you or one of your comrades know of any FM station airing the debate tonight, I’d really like to catch the first hour of this shindig… Thank you so much!

If you have help for the pleader, put it in the comments, please. If you’re looking for our debate party list, it’s here. And if you’re looking for the info on our debate live-blog, it’s here.

I'm gonna guess that Slog enemy KUOW (94.9) or KPLU (88.5) will have radio coverage.

I believe that KIRO will be airing the debate. They can be heard on 97.3 FM,in addition 710 AM.

All NPR stations should broadcast the debate. Locally that's:
88.5 KPLU
94.9 KUOW

Oh, and duh! No one at the Stranger frikkin' knows this?

I think missing the first hour of the debate should be just punishment for exercising such poor judgment in buying a Zune.

CNN will be airing the entire debate all over again at about 9PM as they did with the previous 2

Of course, if she had an iPod she couldn't listen to the radio (without some dorky add-on, which increases the cost of your already seriously overpriced status symbol...)
