...is Charles Fried, one of John McCain's advisers, who has already voted for Obama. He claims the Palin choice was the biggest factor in his defection. This man is a major conservative thinker and he used to be a rabid McCain supporter....

And yet, with this election all over but for the historic turnout of voters on election day, the corporate press is feeding us nonsense about Palin 2012, or even Palin as prospective TV personality. As if! This woman is more hated and has less credibility than Omarosa, Rosie, Hasselbeck and Star Jones combined!

Well, I lost this round of my game "which prominent Republican will endorse Obama next". I'm predicting it will be a Republican Senator next... there are a few who haven't endorsed McCain yet.

The sweet scent of victory is in the air… can you smell it?

It must be sad to be a major conservative thinker and be no longer welcome in conservative circles. Ah, I remember the 80s, when conservatives had ideas, and bragged about them all the time. Cf. Commentary Magazine, now just another Rethug shithole.

Comment by Cato the Younger Younger

Time for some reality boys and girls. As much as I love the fact many of the more "grown-up" Republicans have left their party we need to remember that we need to keep them on our side from here on in. And that is going to be hard for everyone but if we want to keep winning in a "right of center" country that is what we are going to have to do.

We Democrats love to say we're the real party of inclusion: now we have to prove it.

Comment by Will in Seattle

I hope he doesn't lead to a call for the US Chamber of Commerce to take back the $35 MILLION they just dumped into saving Socialist Republican Senators' seats, including $3.3 million just for US Senator John Sununu.

That would be ... bad.

How could the Socialist Marxist Party of McCain continue without these large subsidies?
