I think Paul trumps himself here in some of his less accepting thoughts; he was a person in a journey of faith, and when he transcends his own prejudices to see the higher love for neighbor in God, he's on to something greater and steadfast, especially when he can acknowledge what sometimes separates are his own words that take a fearful life of their own.
