I've already voted, so can I just go into a coma for the next 8 days and wake up when it's all over? I'm not sure I can take this coming week. The anxiety is overwhelming.

@1: Thats my plan... Dropped my ballot in the box this morning.... I've done all I can do... Wake me up when it's all over. Until then I'll be sitting in bedroom with the curtains drawn making plans for my escape to South America... You know, just in case.

Actually, we still have to make it safely to Jan 20 -- plenty of time for Bush & Co. to pull one last dirty trick.

I have to vote for Obama, as he is slightly better than McInsane. But, middle east policy will stay the same. His healthcare bill won't get passed. And the poor will get passed over by trying to strengthen the middle class. Go Obama...I guess?

According to a post on Daily KOS Junior Johnson, of NASCAR fame has endorsed Obama. Ths would seem to trump McCain's use of Joe the Plumber or "Joe Sixpack." Johnson is from North Carolina and it thought that he carries some influnce in that state.

@1,2 - I know Slog hasn't been reporting on it recently (because Lefties apparently think that doom and gloom is the only acceptable environment to report in) but according to any reasonable poll conglomeration, Obama's got an electoral win using only states he's solidly ahead in along with CO/NM or CO/NV or MO or VA or OH or FL or NC or IN or, of course, any combination.

Not trying to be cocky, just sayin' it's not worth giving yourself an ulcer over. though it might be worth spending a couple dollars or a few hours a week down at Obama headquarters calling folks in Ohio.

I'll be spending this last week in Illinois for my eldest brother's funeral, so I'm looking at the bright side -- I can stop worrying about the election full-time.

@1 and 2: you havent done all you can do, there are phone banks to man, GOTV efforts to assist, and friends to guilt into doing what you just did.

I'm gonna say this every day until November 5: Votes elect presidents, not opinion polls.

Fifty-thousand voters were purged from voter rolls in Georgia due to "computer error." The North Carolina ballot design may have cost 100,000 people their vote for president. These are happening right now, folks, not in 2000 or 2004. That's 150,000 votes right there--about the margin that cost Kerry in Ohio. I'm only mentioning two of the many voter-suppression situations happening this very day.

Barack made his closing argument above, but it's gonna take due vigilance by all of us to finish this thing for him. It ain't over till it's over.

@7 I'm not gonna get an ulcer over Obama. I am likely to get one from the anticipation over the Gregoire/Rossi outcome.

I think Obama's going to be a landslide. I haven't lost enthusiasm, but it ain't giving me an ulcer. Gregoire/Rossi has me worried, because my enthusiasm is anti-Rossi rather than pro-Gregoire. Prop 8 in California has my stomach in a complete knot.
