Stopped in His Tracks

posted by on October 13 at 16:30 PM

John McCain says that on Saturday, after John Lewis issued a stern warning about the tone of McCain’s rallies, he dropped everything to consider the civil rights icon’s criticism and figure out a response.

McCain’s decision? Lewis was being “outrageous.”

I never believed that John Lewis, who is an American hero whom I admire, would ever make a comment of that nature. He even referred to the bombing of a church in Birmingham. That’s unacceptable.

Oh boy, did Grandpa Death "suspend his campaign" again when he "dropped everything" to conclude that no, he'd made the right move after all?

When McCain drops everything, I mean literally "drops everything", you'd better make damn well sure that those cameras are off and that you have an aide ready with a fresh pair of Depends and some sanitary wipes backstage.

Would it be uncivil to call the Senator from Arizona a lying pig fucker?

I mean, at least I'm not being ageist.

Yep, McCain is still running his Obama=Ayres=terrorist ads here in Minnesota as of a half hour ago.

The media will never get tired of gobbling up this Republican strategy. Lewis says "You're instigating violent prejudices, which may flare into actual violence if you're not careful" and McCain responds with "Racist?! Me? How dare you!"

Fucking liberal media.

Anyone catch this article on McCain?

"But he also stressed that similar catcalls had been made by Obama supporters.

"I've heard the same thing, unfortunately, at Senator Obama's rallies being said about me," he said, without elaborating."

So, what he's saying is that there are tons of documented examples of offensive racist remarks being made about Obama, and that everyone just kind of... missed all the ones about him?

It's surprising since Obama has all but shunned traditional black leadership in the form of a Lewis. The word from Barry has been for everyone to "keep quiet" so he can win this thing. That means that blacks have been hushed up by the candidate who is supposedly for them.

Few, if any, famous blacks appear with Mr. Obama, and I cannot think of any blacks who are mentioned as major Cabinet members, or campaign leaders who are allowed to make campaign statements. This could be because the BO bandwagon is a one man show, but it really is surprising how much control is being exerted to keep people from expressing ideas in and around the campaign.

And, for those Barriphiles who think that once in office they will suddenly have a voice or an ear from BO, think again. The walls will shut and your vote will have been given up.

I'm in my 50s, and I agree with Lewis - I haven't seen the level of vitriol that McCain and Palin have been encouraging since I was very young and George Wallace was whipping up his supporters.

@7,

His supporters have been trying really hard to find something. So far, they've come up with some hecklers calling McCain a liar (at a McCain rally) and some Obama supporters at an Obama rally booing when McCain is mentioned.

If you took the Republicans at their word, they'd have to be the most pitiful motherfuckers on the face of the planet.

I've changed my mind. After several months lusting after Barack Obama's luscious lips and no doubt giant, black cock, I repudiate everything I've ever said. It's just that I know Obama will never be mine (damn you Michelle!!!), and it's eating me up inside. All I have now is a light brown blow up doll, a black flesh light, and a dildo from the Bobby Blake collection to satisfy me. It will just have to be enough.

I just want to apologize for all the racist, stupid things I've said on SLOG. I deeply apologize to anyone I have hurt.
