General Caray: Years ago, you served my father in the Night Lighting Wars; now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the World Series Curse. I regret that I am unable to present my father's request to you in person; but my ship has fallen under attack and I'm afraid my mission to bring you to Wrigley has failed. I've placed information vital to the survival of the rebellion into the memory systems of this SLOG unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this blog comment safely delivered to him at Wrigley. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Harry Caray; you're my only hope.

If there's anything more annoying than a Cubs fan, I've never encountered it. Go Brewers!

I don't care much about baseball, but that song is great.

The Brewers are to baseball what the Thunder is to pro basketball. I do not forgive or forget. No success to either team unto the seventh generation.

Steve Goodman passed into the afterlife here in Seattle. What a showman he was.

Loved the SNL skit! If Palin would have ended her debate like that, she would've got more votes!

I'd like to announce my new book, "How Tina Fey and SNL saved America," in bookstores on Nov. 4th.

Sorry CF. I feel bad for Lou especially. His comments today about wanting to do more than congratulate the other team in the first round of the playoffs let on -- in Piniella code -- to how pissed off he's gonna be away from the cameras.
If there's anything to brotherize you to Seattle in this it's that you're post-season is an ultra-concentrated version of the M's expectation vs. season. The frustration concentrates up the same way, too, I'd guess. At least you guys played a bunch of good ball this year and got to have that be part of your sunny days and warm weather this Summer.

A friend of mine wants to start a movement called "Hundred and Done" -- if any baseball team goes 100 years without winning the World Series, they should be disbanded. He is, needless to say, not a Cubs fan.

Dan, it is SO bittersweet to see that Steve Goodman video. What a great talent, and a wonderful human being, taken way too soon.

Thanks for posting.

As a St. Louis Cardinals fan, please allow me to say:

HA! HA HA! HA HA HA!

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAAH!

(I know the Cards sucked ass this year. Eat me)

Also, @ 4: two words...Yankees fans.

He may be a cubs fan, but he's got a Michigan accent.
