2008 Registration Persuasion
posted by October 20 at 14:45 PM
onFirst, a text message I received this morning from Barack. (And hey, I would totally post text messages from McCain too—if I ever received any.)
It’s the LAST DAY to register to vote in WA! Tell friends to visit their country auditor’s office to register TODAY. Locations at WA.BarackObama.com/WAEV Fwd msg
Next, an email from a Slog tipper currently in line outside a King County Elections office:
This is the line outside and going into king county elections… people who have waited til the last minute to register to vote. this is only part of the line…
My guess is that more than a few of the people standing in line received the same text message I did. And if I’m right, it’s another sign of how much of an advantage Obama has gained by using new(ish) technology to reach less-likely voters.

lol
And it's a sign of how many procrastinators are out there. Most of them likely won't get around to voting in the upcoming election.
Oh Herr Balio. I was going to come here to put up a well-formed sentence which I hoped would somehow express my feelings on this issue and how it relates to the state of our society.
But you sir...wow. I don't need to make a post. Your "lol" summed it up with aplomb. Bravo!
I wonder how many of those registrations are actually legal.
Since the Democrat Party is known as the kings of voter fraud (witness that Marxist lesbian Gregoire's "victory" in '04), probably all of them are FRAUDULENT!
I don't know why anyone would wait until the last day to register to vote, but I doubt anyone would bother spending time in line waiting to register if they didn't plan on actually voting.
I wait until the last minute to do a lot of things, but registering to vote is not one of them.
