Everyone noticed the suddenly more giant thing on the maverick's face right? It wasn't just me? It seemed to be pulsing! Do we know what's going on with that? Did he comment on that?

Oh, so awesome. I learned to drive on one of those, it was my grandma's old car and she didn't drive it much at that point. I didn't know the name, but it was RED and had a pushbutton start bypass retrofit.

I kinda miss it.

I once went along to buy a Maverick that didn't run for my broke friend. The seller said it ran fine until he washed the engine, and then quit on him. He tried taking the distributor out and drying it, but it didn't work.

So he agreed to let us take it off his hands for $250. Then I popped the hood, undid the distributor bolt and turned the distributor 180 degrees, put it back, and we drove away.

I am such a huge fucking smart ass.

My friend had that exact car when we were younger. Compared to the Volare I had at the time, that things might've well as been a GTO.

My grandmother drove one of those for about 15 years - I don't know what the official color was called, but it fell somewhere between butterscotch and pumpkin, with a fat white stripe that went up the hood, over the roof, and down the trunk lid.

And yeah, didn't have a glove box. Forgot all about that.

I drove a Maverick. It was yellow with lots of rust spots. I used to accelerate shopping carts with it. You hold onto the cart as you pickup speed. At 35 mph you let go and turn the car away. The cart hits a curb and flips in the air. Good times.

Other times I would drive through rich neighborhoods with big lawns which didn't have curbs. They would put their trash out in plastic barrels. If I swerved at the right speed I could propel the barrel(s) clear to the middle of the lawn. Yeeehaw.

I had an old 4-door 73 mav - shit brown with the steel awning things over the side windows. Ugly as sin and smoked like a chimney, but it had a V8 under the hood, and when you put the hammer down, it pushed you right back in your seat. Good times.

Holy shit. My first car was a 75(?) light blue Maverick. That car was legendary. I once packed in 15 drunk teenagers, including me at the wheel. Somehow made it out of my teens without crashing it once.

My first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick. Got it for $100 in 1999 from a lady who bought it from the original owner, a priest, back in the '80s. Only had 70,000 miles on it. Really fun car to drive around, until the trunk fell off.

My sister and I shared a dark green Maverick in High School. It is the car I learned to drive in.

It had a horrible squeak in the front end, and the heater never worked. It was an old piece of garbage. Much like McCain.
