Palin’s Family Valued At…

…roughly 21K.

Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.

The charges included costs for hotel and commercial flights for three daughters to join Palin to watch their father in a snowmobile race, and a trip to New York, where the governor attended a five-hour conference and stayed with 17-year-old Bristol for five days and four nights in a luxury hotel.

In all, Palin has charged the state $21,012 for her three daughters’ 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office in December 2006. In some other cases, she has charged the state for hotel rooms for the girls.

Don't forget the $17K in per diem payments she billed the state for nights she spent in her own home. AP says they're still trying to figure out what the hell that was. Oof.

And if it were anyone else, you phony-balonies would be lamenting how the state should recognize the needs of kids and moms.

Considering the fact that she has turned the state investigative panel's finding of "guilty of ethics violations" into

"I’m very, very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing … any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that."

I'm going to guess that she'll do exactly the same thing if ever confronted about this "scandal" and either pretend that it didn't happen or portray it as an attempt to victimize her and her family.

it's so great that in a few weeks she will be back to Wasilla. she can jump right back into her unethical, power hungry, cold-hearted politics

Bailo,

Funny you should mention phoney baloney.

As a small-government fiscal conservative -- seriously -- I find it all the more egregious when an ostensibly conservative politician dips into those sacred taxpayer dollars to do a little wealth redistribution of their very own.

Shouldn't you?

The real scandal is that, according to the dimwit currently holding the office, Palin earned about $70k to do nothing but sign checks and hold weekly meetings while mayor of Wasilla.

In business, the rule is YOU pay for the expenses of anyone piggybacking on your business trip. You pay their airfare, meals and hotel room upgrades or extra rooms for the kids. You also get permission from your boss if you want to play by the book. Sue B

EXACTLY. You want the kids along, you pay their way.
