"My god, how did his ass ever survive THAT?" would have been more compelling...

My tastes are so vanilla.

@8, I hear you, and a couple thoughts in response:

* My tastes are pretty vanilla, too, but they are not some President's Select "ice milk" shit. They're better described as 100% organic rich ice cream with real vanilla bean flecks. I know that sounds like some kind of sweetened santorum, but there you have it. So are you really "just" vanilla? Or something more...

* I wouldn't do half (or more) of the things I've seen in porn, but the titillation is exciting and the occasional good idea is never wasted.

Own your vanilla, baby, but grow your vanilla, too.

@4, 8, 9: Yeah, Goatse is not my idea of titillation, whether I would do it myself or not. I was really interested in HUMP until now.

I'm not going to Hump! unless this video wins the Grand Prize.

So I seem to recall you saying last year that you thought some memo had gone out for everybody to do FE videos, since you received tons of them. Yet none of those ended up making the cut. What was the deal? Are we likely to see any this year?

I can't believe I left before the finale either! Dammit. Also, I had a strange dream this morning that involved watching a friend tongue kiss her dog. Oh, how it hurt my brain.

#12 - what's with the dogs?!

Dear All,

My name is Dr. Bloom, and I am the amateur filmmaker that produced the film "In Bloom" that is discussed above. The film is a very tightly constructed, 8 minute movie, that complies with all the rules of submission to the "HUMP! 4" porn film festival. It includes a composed soundtrack, performed by a harpsichordist and string quartet and includes a very powerful depiction of graphic, intense, and private sexuality. In fact, everyone who has seen this film has commented that they "have NEVER seen anything like it before." This last Friday, I was contacted by Kelly (the very same one discussed above who DID NOT see the film) to proudly announce to me that my film was overwhelmingly accepted into the festival. After a brief chat, I was then asked if it would be possible to cut the length of the film because they had found that they accepted too many films and subsequently need to have them shortened by as much as "half!" Because of the care that went into my 8 minute movie (within the submission guidelines, it must be noted), I made it clear that it would be impossible without recomposing and performing the music and re-shooting and editing the whole film! Something that is impractical within the supplied timeframe. Because of the construction of the film, it would be a travesty to simply "cut" pieces of the whole film out -- all parties involved in the production of the film will not agree to this form of artistic "rape." To take out the passion, build up, and artful construction, would turn people’s attention from its sublime nature of the film to a few "WOW shots" easily confused with vulgarity. Those who are running this festival openly "understand" why my particular film is not contusive to being "cut" in such a manner, so I was informed that after the official jury had selected the film for inclusion, to be "fair" to the shorter films, those who are in charge of the festival (NOT the reconvened official selection jury advertised to choose the films) have decided to remove the film despite saying, "we loved your film—it is, indeed, very, very powerful." Sadly, none of you who paid your $20 cover charge will now see this film, and the above discussion is reduced from "preview" to "hype."

For those interested and/or curious, please email BoltEnterprises (at) hotmail (dot) com, and I will let you know if or when a private showing of this film may be available in the future. All those involved in its making are very proud of it and, indeed, surprised that such a moving, powerful film was made – it was as much of a surprise to us as to those who view it. Again, I do thank the concept of HUMP! 4, without of which this film would never have been made. However, I am deeply disgusted with the tyrannical politics of those in charge of the festival. I look forward to hearing from some of you and would LOVE to hear some direct reviews of those who served on the jury. We are fascinated with the diversity of people’s reactions and very much want to learn from and about them.

My deepest affection and appreciation,

Dr. Bloom
