Now That’s Funny

posted by on October 21 at 17:21 PM

John McCain has spent more money on makeup than Sarah Palin—oh, and the RNC spent upwards of $150,000 “outfitting” Sarah Palin and her entire family since McCain yanked Palin out of his ass back in August. Politico:

The Republican National Committee appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.

According to financial disclosure records, the accessorizing began in early September and included bills from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York for a combined $49,425.74. The records also document a couple of big-time shopping trips to Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, including one $75,062.63 spree in early September.

The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup through September after reporting no such costs in August.

Says John at Americablog…

Gee, Marshalls and Target are too good for Mrs. Joe Six Pack?

Oh, Sarah Palin is now voters top “concern” about John McCain—they don’t think she’s qualified. But, hey, she looks nice—and that RNC money cleaned Levi up real good too, huh?

Why doesn't she shop in real American, rather than those big, anti-American cities?

John probably coulda saved money by hiring a laid-off plasterer. Or an embalmer.

Who knew a pit bull could go through $150,000 worth of lipstick in two months?

To think that Republicans went after John Edwards for his $300 haircuts. The hypocrisy of these people is mind-numbing.

Yes, she's been wearing Valentino, who was also Nancy Reagan's favorite. Nancy R. should be buried in a Valentino, and so should Palin on November 4th.

It's nice to know that my $10 donation to Obama (you know the one responsible for the looming danger in campaign finance) didn't go to Saks. I'm more a Land's End and Target gal. Sue B

I believe the proper term for this is, "valuable parting gifts".

Presumably, Palin will also get a "home version of the game" to go along with them...

My small-town, conservative grandma did her clothes shopping at the fabric store and sewed everything from Sunday clothes to wedding dresses for her kids. My mom made every Easter dress and Halloween costume my sister and I ever wore. Now, as an intellectual elite, big city kind of gal, I carry on that tradition by making custom clothes on a sewing machine twice my age. So am I more or less of a "real American" than Sarah Palin?

Do you remember the creepy scene of boyfriend Levi Johnston on the tarmac? I thought to myself, "who the hell dressed him like a dork?"

Now we know. A personal designer at Sax. I suppose he was intended to look like a good boy to all the grandmothers in Florida.

Have you noticed that Barry (a.k.a. Barack, a.k.a. Buddy Love) hasn't been fitting his clothes very well...guess he'll have to keep drinking the secret formula not to bloat up for the next two weeks.

eh...non-issue. She needed appropriate clothes to campaign in.

They didn't use tax money to buy the shit, so who cares?

Move on; nothing to see here.
