Naomi Wolf on Weekday Right Now

posted by on October 3 at 9:16 AM

She who compares Sarah Palin to Evita is on KUOW with Steve Scher.

Naomi Wolf compared the Bush administration’s actions to those of notorious dictators like Hitler in her book “The End of America.” Her new book, “Give Me Liberty,” is a handbook for ordinary citizens. She hopes it will help stop erosions of democracy in this country. Recently in the Huffington Post, Wolf argued that Sarah Palin is an Evita–like puppet; a Trojan Horse smuggling the same failed policies of Bush and Rove into the White House. Does she think we are too late to save democracy in this country?

Steve’s saying the names of would-be dictatorships in a weird, tentative, highly liberal voice. This could get good.

Plus, Cliff Mass joins us with a weekend weather forecast.

I like your name, Mr. Mass.

Naomi Wolf is tedious; she'd make a better guest on Bill Moyers. And thanks Naomi, I already knew about the Posse Comitatus act.

Cliff Mass kicks ass on the other hand. I wish they'd give him the whole hour.

I like the work Cliff Mass has done in weather modeling, but I'm not a fan of his views on math education - which he trumpets at places like wheresthemath.com.

Oh, wait, this is Naomi Wolf. I thought it was Naomi KLEIN. I feel better now. Naomi Klein kicks ass and this woman is a bit of a crackpot!

@2 is correct (the HELLOOOOHH part, not the Klein part).

That was a one-sided interview and impossible to listen to. Perhaps she should take a class in public speaking or the art of persuasion. I agreed with many of her points, but with her grating personality, she couldn't convince me to pee if my pants were on fire.

The fact that Steve Scher is a slow-minded dolt didn't help reel her in either.

Is there anybody on the blog who has taken a history class, or high school civics.

She is crazy, right? Don't read about it. Don't even listen to the radio.

None of it matters, it is not happening anyway, and there is nothing we can do.

Let's all go back to talking about sex, now.

You people are idiots.

I didn't mean Bethany Jean Clement.

It was very brave of you to post this given the tyranny of Dan Savage and the intellectual elitism of Paul Constant. Along with the combined lack of relevance at a time of crisis. Future readers looking back to the time before every writer was dragged from the offices by storm-troopers and shot in the street will wonder how such obliviousness and denial could obscure the obvious.
