I'm loving these McCain supporters of the day videos. Keep 'em coming.

This one was better that the one yesterday, I think. There wasn't as much interaction with person filming, he just let the McCain supporters speak for themselves. And wow, speak for themselves they did.

Commie faggots. Wow. These people are crazy.

Sidewalk to nowhere, indeed.

Someone should tell them it's not 1950.

I like the 'Get a job!' comments from people who obviously weren't working so they could see the rally.

Anyone else a little frightened by all of the calls to "kill him"?
Holy crap. I really hope the Secret Service is up for what the next 4 (hopefully eight!) years are likely to bring.

These videos are a form of news media. They create a people's news channel. Just letting people talk to the camera, asking simple questions and letting people talk.

These videos should be on the mainstream news, while they waste all our time trying to analyze the electorate.

But they aren't because they are so straightforward.

More regular people need to videotape regular people's viewpoints to then show other regular people.

This is a great phenomenon by liberals for this election cycle.

Love the Acorn protester! He has no idea what he's protesting :)

I agree with Julie @2, this one gave a little more rope to the McCain supporters who proved the adage: "better to be silent and thought an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Honestly, this shit scares the crap out of me.

Ok, so what to do with the lack of sophistication in the arguments? I have family members who are equally as pro-McCain. The call him a socialist. what do they think is happening to the banking industry?.........the Medical industry since 1980s..........Fannie and Freddie?

I can't wait until this kind of behavior can be officially diagnosed and treated as the imbalance that it is.

Anyone?........thoughts?

Newsflash: there are a lot of ignorant people in the world. Just as many support team blue as support team red. Both sides see themselves as enlightened academics and see the other side as boorish, unsophisticated brutes. This will never change, and is not interesting news fodder.

@4,6,12: you guys never watch Fox News or listen to AM talk radio?

The comments about rape kits made me cry. How are there people who laugh at things like that?

Posted by Precipice | October 10, 2008 11:35 AM

@12. I don't know. Anybody who yells "commie faggot" and "baby killer" with that much venom isn't likely to have their mind changed. The best tactic for someone who is persuadable is to talk about exactly what you just said about socialism -- what happened in the banking industry, the two candidate's health care plans and tax plans...

I am thinking of sending this video on to a couple of McCain supporters I know who might be a little ashamed of the company they're keeping. I wouldn't have sent yesterday's video since it was way too "liberal confronting McCain supporters" as opposed to just letting them hang themselves...

On a positive note, these are the ones who are LOSING.

I know lots of McCain supporters and they are not generally this rabid, stupid or hateful. They are just socially and fiscally conservative and are really fearful of the "liberal agenda". The outspoken people in these videos are definitely the fringe. The camera doesn't linger on those just standing in line, not engaging the protesters, because they are not as interesting.

It makes my skin crawl. What a bunch of racist and hateful morons.

But may I ask why this video had to end to a chant to unions and unionism? It's not exactly helping to fight the socialism/communism accusation against liberals, fake as that accusation is.

some people should just admit when theyve lost.

these are the rantings of those who know deep down that all is lost.

More compelling evidence that the West Coast (WA, OR, CA) NEEDS to secede! There may be morons like that out here in our rural areas but we hold the majority! We can take care of ourselves while also not validating views like these in our own political system! Jefferson envisioned it too. Spread the word!

Alaska is not invited.

this is what fear looks like. they know they're going to lose to a muslim/terrorist, and they are angry.

its amazing how quickly they've rushed to label an old white guy (ayres) a terrorist on par with al queda.

i hope that after 8 years of obama's frankly boring manner & conservative democratic policies, some portion of these folks WTFU. certainly a lot of them will pass on by 2016.

That is a lots of fat white people, sure it's not the sidewalk to Sizzler? Maybe they should move back to Europe, if they don't like it they can leave, and learn a thing or two. Most of our infrasturcture is socialism, the state builds the roads, not the free market.

13: Yes, keep perpetuating the myth that both sides are equal. This isn't fucking Southpark, it's reality. You'd be hard-pressed to find liberals or progressives who are anywhere near as stupid as these people. Stop pretending that the blue states are exactly the same. We ARE smarter. And we ARE more tolerant. And tolerance doesn't mean tolerating bigotry.

Two words: Lynch mob

Obama a "socialist"? After Comrade Bush and Commissar Paulson have nationalized most of the financial sector in less than two weeks? Perhaps they'll make a kung fu video now, like Putin.

@26- Can midwesterners apply for refugee status? We'll bring corn and dairy products.

Heck, why don't they just divide up the country? our new country vs. Fuckfaceland. We can have salons and wear monocles and enjoy great medical developments, and they can wallow around in their own Jesus-themed filth.

ugh, i was glad for the upbeat ending. five minutes of that can really do some mental damage. i'm surprised that people are still caught up on the whole communism thing. isn't that over yet? especially the guy screaming 'european socialist'. what is this, 1890? is he gonna go rant about the green dragon next?

@ 26: Erm, that's my hometown (hangs head in shame). That would be why I got the hell out and moved here. I have been engaging in Facebook flame battles with former high school classmates who are repeating this same birdshit-- "But what about ACORN? Huh? Huh?" That said, PA is solid blue for Obama and my dad has been working his ass off to make sure those loons don't make any inroads.

BTW, Bethlehem? Home of Bethlehem Steel, inspiration for Billy Joel's song, "Allentown", site of more job flight than just about anywhere else. This is doubly sad. Reminds me of the 1920s when the KKK preyed on poor whites, setting them up against blacks in a false fight while guess who took power and oh! drove the economy into a ditch.

this is not a presidential election rally-
this is fear in raw form. these people do not have specific issues. they are working with a 15-25 second sound bite from the Rove/McCain spin. Obama is blank, Obama is going to take my gun, Obama knows so and so.
It's a rally AGAINST Obama to incite hatred and more fear over the unknowns in our country. McCain/Palin don't have to have the answers. this fucking election cannot come soon enough

Barack Obama and his family must truly love this country to want to lead and actually try and help morons like these people. If people are saying 'kill him' in situations like this I bet there's a few nut cases out there thinking about it all day and night. Very chilling.

Posted by Gregus | October 10, 2008 3:20 PM

Shouldn't some of them get arrested for making "Kill him" threats? I mean, if anyone did that against the Prez. then the Secret Service would be all over their collective asses. Right?

I think it would do Americans good if they settled political disputes the way Kenyans did it recently, with machetes and spears. The Republicans sure like violence and hate don't they? WOW.

I also wonder what the Secret Service is doing about these hate rallies. My biggest fear is that Obama will win the election and one of these hate-crazed bigots will shoot him before he gets sworn in.

Commie faggots?
Go back to Russia?
You guys are gonna have a civil war.

I guess these guys forgot to wear their WWJD bracelets.

Fortunately for us, Pennsylvania has Pittsburgh and Philly to keep the state blue. It makes me happy to know that the votes of the rednecks in this video aren't going to matter.
