A basic algebra word problem...

Q. Let's say you had a pile of 7 condoms, and before leaving for the night you took 2 of them. What percentage of your total condoms did you take?

A. (2/7) * 100 = 28.6%

How to figure the amount someone gave, given it as a % of Obama's total Sept. contributions?

Let x = amount donated, P = percentage of total (here P is unknown, so we solve for x)

Then (x/150M) * 100 = P, so in your case:

(x/150M) * 100 = .0006667, and after crunching these numbers into the Google instant calculator, voil�!...

x = .00066667*150M/100 ~= $1000

Well, I beat the 'average' donation of $86. I'm still not showing up on those donor sites, though - WTF??

#17 - If Terry is cooking, taking care of the house and toting DJ around, he HAS a job. Hopefully, Dan pays him as much as he would an outside employee.

#8, If you don't have a $1000 to donate (like I don't), then you'll be keeping MORE under Barry Steve. Not less.

Speaking of math, I'm still waiting for offical clarification of Mr Obama's statement that he'll cut income taxes for 95% of Americans, when according to the IRS only 67% of Americans pay any income taxes.
