This was McCain's worst debate - he looked like an exasperated, angry old man who couldn't figure out why he lost. "What, dontcha believe me? I have SCARS!"

The undecided voters are eating retarded sandwiches.

Some idio--er, I mean undecided voter-- on CBS just said Obama came off as unpresidential when he explained his relationship with Bill Ayers. Apparently in the age of Bush, being presidential means not explaining anything.

@6: Well of course you do, punkin'--and it is understood that you are the commodity in play.

Let's codify it in treaty form; we can call it NASTA.

McCain said twice that Sarah Palin supports children with *autism*. I think that he was intending to say Down syndrome.
Oops.

If anyone's watching C-SPAN right now they are having the most bizarre calls in reaction to the debate.

A "14-year-old" "Obama supporter" with a very effeminate voice (I can say that cause I'm gay)

then a "15-year-old" who now supports Nader

then a guy with a heavy Latino accent referencing immigration reform, calling "in support" of McCain

Who are these people? And how the hell is the C-Span moderator keep a straight face. LOL

@13:
I'm listening to that too, it's fuckin' wacky.

I was watching the debate on there, and it got all choppy when they were discussing abortion... what was going on then?

I would just like to thank all the folks at the Stranger who made this liveblogging available to us all.

I know that it is a lot of work, but it has been much appreciated.

"McCain will probably lose". David Brooks closing comment on the PBS pundit wrap up.

omg C-SPAN just had two yokels in a row. LOL

Moderator's face is a rictus of either pain or horror

The whole "Joe the Plumber" meme perfectly illustrates why so many middle-class and working-class people have recently (last 30 years or so) voted against their own economic interests: they all envision themselves eventually being in the position of earning $250K a year and buying a small business--in effect of all becoming above average.

Bring on the RAYS!!! PHILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!

the networks wanted a manny in bean town series, but not this year baby.

Not this year at all, SeMe. Out with the old school; it's a series of underdogs. Obama should head down to St. Pete. Catch the clincher.

it will all be won in the city of brotherly love baby. Respect!!

Manny is one tough out, but the Phillies will not be denied!!

Heh. Rays gotta seal the deal first, too. I couldn't be happier about Rays Phils going head to head. It's going to be a great series. People are already complaining about the ratings. Ha!

If Americans cant see what is going by now this country is dome. mcCain is going run this counrty into the ground he is evil and we cant trust him, look at his choice for running mate a person who has no idea of what is going on with America and problems face and she dont have a clue how to fix them. Obama proved one more for the third and final time thathe knows what to do to fix the problems that we are in and make a beter future for us. Please vote Obama on nov. 4th for you and yours childrens future.

was it just me or did McCain seem to think Palin's kid is autistic? TWICE?

seriously, McCain put down the pen.wtf. I think I may have liked it better when he didn't look at Obama. I had to switch off CBS, I couldn't stand seeing McCain's face while Barack was talking. I was yelling shut up while McCain was talking-I guess I was hoping Bob would.

Rays-Phillies is a dream series for me. History versus the future. I'm rooting for the Rays. They're the team I wish the Mariners could be, smarter than us in every conceivable way. LA and Boston, good riddance.
