anybody else think the picture on the wall in the first photo on the second line looks a little bit like our presidential hopeful mr. obama?

The interior design is kind of tacky.

Too bad it'll cost someone another $4Mil to renovate the fugliness.

OMG that is so funny. Clicking on the Windermere "map this" button leads you to a map that clearly shows it midblock on the east side of Federal north of E. Garfield. A quick trip to the King County Parcel website mapping system shows it's 1642 Federal Ave. E, parcel 1130000025, and that Rotellas bought it in 2005 from... famous non-shoplifter "Jean Enersen" Skinner! If Rotella were to get his asking of 6.25 mil, that would be quite an appreciation, no? (Looks like National City was involved in his mortgage on this - I hear National City is widely expected to fail, as it's all but insolvent on bum loan exposure.)

P.S. Google Earth shows clearly how the house backs up to Lakeview Cemetery, which a friend suggested would make it perfect for Halloween TP-ing over the back fence by anybody facing a WAMU option-ARM reset this winter, or a shareholder, or whatever. I'm just sayin'.

From the listing map, it looks like it's on Federal Ave E between Garfield and Blain. So, moorage at the cemetery, I guess?

Moorage is presumably at a lake marina.

I can remember a time when rich people in Seattle (and elsewhere) had good taste, and hired skilled architects and designers, and had interesting modern-looking houses. Now everything looks like fucking Pottery Barn.

Agreed, the interiors look tacky, and not even in the Vegas style of so-tacky-it's-almost-not-tacky-anymore either.

And now the grifters at AIG are using bailout money for hunting trips to Englan. But I suppose in George Bush land this is acceptable. Greed and ignorance are killing America.

Isn't "rotella" a toilet-bowl cleaner? ...or a kind of pasta, or something?

McFly, it was Killenger who destroyed WaMu. This guy was hired to be his eventual replacement and no doubt played his role, but Killenger was CEO up until his very sudden retirement 3 weeks before the FDIC seized it.

Good job on figuring out the picture, though.

Whoops, that's Killinger, not Killenger.
