I posted this in the comments yesterday and asked Eli to show it to ECB -- I was waiting to see the mushroom cloud all the way from Wallingford...

The strange sounds that McCain makes remind me more of Burgess Meredith as The Penguin in the old Batman television series.

Cultists always try to show a happy face lest someone know their secret. He's starting to sound like a man who knows he's doomed.

McCain's smile is officially the creepiest thing in the world.

Actually, I may be being charitable here, but I didn't think that first clip was so bad. I thought that the clip was going to be him making a joke about how the townhall was emotional because the ladies were present. Which would have infuriated me.

But, what he meant was that it was an "impactful", good discussion because it was a women's townhall. I don’t know, it seemed like the point of his sentence was "impactful" not "emotional".

i think you are being charitable julie in chicago, it seems to me that his comment was meant as a joke, meaning that it was the emotional part of the sentence that was being linked to the women there. unless there is some joke about women and impacts that i'm not aware of, or mccain was being really crude.

@8. Maybe... It seemed more of like a “shout out to all the ladies in the house” kind of thing to me (which is of course stupid in its own right), but I could see it going either way.

@11: Like when Ali G was campaigning at that feminist group meeting, and his shout out "to all his bitches in da house" fell strangely flat?

Maybe if we weren't so emotional we could be trusted to make decisions about our own bodies.

F***ing dick.
