2008 Halloween Favors Obama

onYet more bad news for McCain:
Vinyl masks of Democrat presidential candidate Obama are reportedly selling better nationwide, and locally, than those of Republican McCain. HalloweenMask suppliers say sales of political masks have predicted the outcome of the last several elections.
Matt Lance, chairman of the Bay County Republican Party, doesn’t buy it. The winner on Nov. 4 will be determined by voters, not trick or treaters, he said….
…On the other hand, ”I would assume the McCain costume wouldn’t be coming to my door looking for a handout,” Lance laughed.
Tony Pawelski, chairman of the Bay County Democratic Party, said he wouldn’t give any candy to a costumed McCain.
”He’d just give it to Bush,” Pawelski quipped.
Why is that mask of Obama not convincing?

Hm, that seems a bit counter-intuitive to me, just because I think I'd be much more scared by someone wearing a McSame mask than I would be if someone were wearing an Obama mask.
On the other hand, I can imagine, in many parts of the South the opposite would be true.

"Mr. Obama is running as a reformer who is seeking to reduce the influence of special interests. But like any other politician, he has powerful constituencies that help shape his views. And when it comes to domestic ethanol, almost all of which is made from corn, he also has advisers and prominent supporters with close ties to the industry at a time when energy policy is a point of sharp contrast between the parties and their presidential candidates."
I can't think of anything lamer than being some fucking politician for Halloween.
I think the mask is not convincing because the chin is too big. It's like a Leno chin. The nose is off too. It almost looks like a weird version of James Brown.
@3, i agree, but this halloween is 4 days before the biggest election of our lifetimes.
and it's an awesome halloween for women who look like sarah palin.
i think they just re-painted some old bill clinton masks for the obama mask.
That mask is weird because it looks like they just took the John Kerry mask from 2004 and colored it brown.
Because, you know, all Democrats look alike.
When I was six, I dressed up as a homeless Richard Nixon for Halloween. Good times!
The Obama mask looks like a browned Jimmy Carter. (Shudder)
No, it looks like a black Jay Leno
#1 - Stop spreading the myth that racism in the US solely exists in the South. If you take a look most of the recent hateful McCain/Palin rallies are taking place in northern states like PA, OH, and MN.
I'll admit since most of the southern states aren't swing states (only FL) we aren't getting the chance to expose our racism as much. But the events of the past few weeks should be viewed as evidence that racism is alive and well outside of the South. So stop hating on the South!
Obama mask looks like Cleavon Little:

And McCain mask looks like Peter Boyle:

(Sorry about the long links.)
No, McCain wouldn't ask for a handout. He'd steal candy from the little kiddies and give it to middle aged adults.
The McCain mask looks like Gerald Ford to me.
We won't support NO-Bama and will re-defeat him in November !!! Go Hillary 2012
It's missing a turban! Come on, it's so obvious to me!
@14 beat me to it.
The skin tone on the mask looks darker than Obama's actual color. Similar to the infamous photoshopped O.J. Newsweek cover.
Scariest mask of all:

@14: Hmmm, more like Gerald Ford's corpse.
John Bailo: please put a link to a photo of your face in your next comment, so we can all make John Bailo masks for Hallowe'en.
Ooooo-WEEEE-ooooo!
@ 13 !!! :D
I'm trying to get my sprog to be Obama for Halloween, with a bag reading 'Yes, Oui Candy.'
I agree with 14. It looks like Gerald Ford and young Bill Cosby are about to make out.
