Starting right now (and going until 6 p.m.), the somewhat terribly named ’zaw artisan bake to eat pizza invites you to sample its wares (promised to "satisfy even the most sophisticated of palettes") at its brand-new flagship store at 1424 E. Pine (near the Elyisan). Also, unspecified door prizes! ’zaw is take-and-bake or available for delivery "via customized carbon-free bikes and trailers." mjgirl gives it five stars: Great addition to the 'Hill Been waiting to try the pizza from Zaw ever since they opened and finally ordered last night for our debate party. I might as well save 10 bucks and go to papa murphy's.

We have something like this in Chicago, called Homemade Pizza Company. It is a good idea in theory, but an enormous rip-off from a price perspective. Just as expensive, if nor more, than actually going out to eat at a good pizza place...

Go to safeway.com. Click on Safeway Home Delivery in the bottom right. Put in a WA zip code in the New Guests box and click Browse Store. Click Shop by Aisle > Beer, Wine & Spirits. Pick out some booze, hand over all your personal data to the Safeway Club, and you're all set...

So yes, it's legal. You can also call a taxi and have the driver pick up beer and wine for you. Which is probably cheaper than the 'Zaw thingy.

I had pizza from - ugh - 'zaw on Sunday evening. After a mere 20 minutes, including walking home and pre-heating the, we had some pretty damn good pizza. It was called the "Viet'zaw." I'm still trying to figure out this might be racist or... something. Look, I'm really trying not to like this place, but it's making it pretty hard.

The beer and wine thing? I'm not so sure they deliver. I think it's still illegal. I used to live in Tucson, where beer & wine were deliverable. Tucson maybe be the place where dreams go to die, but at least you can get your drunk delivered. Still, with 7-11, Safeway, and Madison Market so close, you'd be a fool to order the yet-more-marked-up beer and wine from 'zaw if you have it delivered on the hill.

It's PALATES!!!!! PALATES!!! THAT THING IN YOUR MOUTH IS A PALATE!!! THAT THING IN YOUR HAND IS A PALETTE!!! THE STUFF ON YOUR PALETTE SHOULD NOT TOUCH YOUR PALATE!!! (unless you are a five-year old with non-toxic paint, in which case it still shouldn't touch, but it won't kill you).

I have no idea if their food is any good, but their menu is horrendous. Before I even got past the cover, I was saddened by the fake stamp/brand logos (set at the perfect angle) and the words: "adored by herbivores, carnivores and localvores." I see they're trying to be clever, as they've kept it all-lowercase, as per douchey under-condo guidelines...but "-vore?" As in the Latin "vorare," meaning "to consume or devour?" Really, "localvore?" Izzat wot ya meant, 'zaw?

Ignorance, Freudian slip, or did the person who wrote the copy try and slip in a little jab?

These boring condos with the tanning salons and Quiznos on the bottom are indeed consuming any remaining local charm in Seattle. (Full disclosure: I cannot afford a condo anywhere on planet Earth.)

Yes, make the jump from the boring condos to the boring people who buy them and have no problem saying "'zaw." I guess I need them around to feel better about myself...

Looks like they have two more locations: Ballard and South Lake Union. Shocking!

PS- corner stores have been delivering beer and wine and weed forever.
