"In addition to his continuing leadership of Intiman, Sher has also recently been named Resident Director of Lincoln Center Theater, where he will consult with LCT Artistic Director Andre Bishop on artistic matters and direct one LCT production each year."

So, basically, Mr. Sher gets his cake and gets to eat it as well; he's now truly bi-coastal (although leaning east-coast, since that's apparently where he's taken up permanent residency), and it would appear the Intiman board is perfectly content with this arrangement.

I guess, if there's any saving grace to this, it's that, with Sher spending increasingly more of his time in NYC, more of the day-to-day grunt work will most likely fall on the Artistic Associates like Craig Lucas and Sheila Daniels, which, hopefully, means MAYBE Intiman will begin to lean a bit more Seattle-centric in terms of casting and maybe even programming in the next few years.
