"Dolemite" by Rudy Ray Moore and the Soul Rebellion Orchestra is on my weight lifting iPod playlist, so today I'm going to bench an extra set in his honor.

Sad to hear about Rudy Ray Moore. While everybody knows about Dolemite, he made another film very close to my heart.

For all the fans of Dolemite and b-movies, check out Disco Godfather. I have watched it at least 10 times and while it is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, it is very entertaining. Also of note, Disco Godfather features recently deceased Julius Carry in his first film role.

This is a serious loss to the world of cinema. Rudy Ray Moore aka "Dolemite" was like nobody else! His movies are like going into a spaceship to another land that only exists in theory. Rest in Peace Disco Godfather - DOLEMITE MOTHERFUCKER!

Is Rudy Ray Moore related to Gearld Moore, the former outstanding running back for Spokane's Lewis and Clark high School? Did Rudy Ray also attend L.C.?

A tribute band I was in opened for him at Chop Suey about 5 years, and we had to play long because the house was kind of small and he wouldn't go on until the promoter drummed up enough cash to pay him in advance. Smart businessman, that.

Worth every penny, too.

He was truly a legend. I'll be having a marathon with my Dolemite boxed set today. Hopefully a crackhead will turn up at my door and he can be my new hamburger pimp and we can mourn together.

Btw, you should have posted the scene involving the coke bust fight with the cops! Before we all stick our motherfucking hush puppies in your ass.
