He also had a habit of bullying his children. He's admitted to tasering his 11-year-old son 'to teach him a lesson,' and it sounds very much like he threatened to kill not only his wife but her father, who's also Mrs Palin's father. Is it any wonder that she put some pressure on Walt Monegan to fire him? What possible reason Mr Monegan had for wanting to let this guy stay on as a cop is something I'll leave to "Troopergate" junkies.
