D-Day Minus 5, Chicago Edition

posted by on October 31 at 10:43 AM

Obama’s home town begins the infighting over how to handle the anticipated crowds for the election night rally. One Loop business association is asking, without much success, for businesses to close early and send employees home. And this after the Chicago tradition of voting several times and the getting liquored up at the Alderman’s saloon? No way. Meanwhile, as in so many other places, record numbers of people voted early. A lot of conversation about changing Election Day to Voting Week or Month: make it national. You have a month to cast your vote, with earlier voting done primarily in city and county office buildings, and then the final weekend leading up to the first Tuesday after a Monday in November, have all the polling places open.

Millions of extremist radical Red Bushies will be fleeing the country for Ecuador and Paraguay.

Remember to wait until after they pull out the drive to loot their homes.

No need to make people go to buildings. Oregon mails you your ballot and then you put it in the mail, or one of the election drop boxes all over town. You don't need to make the pilgrimage unless you've got an issue with your registration. Also - it's a paper ballot. It's the way of the future.
