How about just having a normal kids' book with gay parents as minor characters, the role straight parents play in kids' books? Why always titles like, "Look, That Kid Has Gay Parents!" and "Joey's House Has Two MILFs"?

I kinda have to agree with the Wasilla library.

I applaud the message(s) in Heather has Two Mommies, and Daddy's Roommate. But seriously, they are horrible kids books. Boring and preachy and no fun whatsoever.

And Tango Makes Three, on the other hand, is adorable as fuck. And kids love, LOVE, LOVE penguins. This is an excellent kids book, and the better choice hands down.

Did you see the flame-broiling that Stewart (Jason Jones, really) delivered to Wasilla? Unfuckingbelievable. The close, with the NYCFD walking at Ground Zero, was stunning.

I've given Tango to all the little kids I know. They love it. It's my little three-year-old cousin's favorite book.

And cutting edge, in your face series' like the VHS box set of My Two Dads have been replaced by the more subtle, Perfect Strangers.

#5 - I thought that was of the better "news" pieces I'd seen in months.

Thank goodness we still have activists who know how to promote a gay-positive agenda! We need more gay activists donating more gay-themed books to public libraries.
