Chow Brasa’s Tamara Murphy Revamping the Cafe at Elliot Bay Book Co.
posted by October 24 at 12:27 PM
onThe cafe is temporarily closed, to reopen with Murphy—she of raising pigs to kill and eat them (and blog about it), and the mastermind of not only Brasa but Burning Beast—managing. The food at the cafe has been pretty atrocious for a long time, so this is brilliant.
From Burning Beast: Matt Dillon (of Sitka and Spruce/The Corson Building) sewed two small goats into conjoined twins and stuffed the cavity with more meat.
P.S. Feeling poor? Brasa’s happy hour rules.

I dunno, I had me a sandwich there recently and it was just fine. Does this mean we should expect an end to vegan (or vegetarian, for that matter) options? All dead animal, all the time?
I can't tell you how happy it makes me that the new yuppie thang is celebrating slaughter. Great.
Good. Maybe they'll fire all the hipster asshats who sneer at you when you bring your salad back because it full of rotten fucking lettuce.
Geez Louise, if that photo isn't enough to turn someone into a vegetarian...
Since when is sewing dead things together considered a great culinary technique?
Will they be serving ortolans there, as well?
BJC is right yall. the food at elliot bay( my fave book store) is atrocious.
Great pic!! Just need to get myself a fork and then CHOW DOWN!!! YUMMY!
@3 -- I've never seen a hipster there, but I've seen a lot of post-hippy stoners behind the counter. It takes them a long time to make mediocre food that barely draws. I say good riddance. I, for one, welcome our new meat slaughtering overlords.
Cato: boring, repetitive spammer.
I wanna eat some bbq wings now.
I *heart* Tamara Murphy.
@10 Why? Because his comment is pro-meat? I don't get it.
At least she grows the pigs herself. I'm kind of okay with that.
Brasa is hella yummy. HELLA.
Tamara Murphy and her home grown pig... this story is so played out. Please find something new to get all foodie about.
