Barack Obama Is Your New iPhone App

posted by on October 2 at 11:05 AM

Via Ben Smith, this new feature “organizes and prioritizes your contacts by key battleground states, making it easy to reach out and make an impact quickly”!

Which reminds me of this, also via Mr. Smith: Barack Obama is Google, John McCain is AT&T.

If Obama is Google, shouldn't this be an Android app instead of on a phone exclusive to AT&T?

McCain is a telegraph or pony express.

Seriously though, when/if Obama is the next President the database he has put together is a POWERFUL tool for a sitting President. This is a tremendous way of garnering grassroots support for legislation that he wants to push through Congress. I hope he uses it for good instead of evil.

I'm very disappointed that seemingly the only issue missing from the "Issues" tab is gay rights. Obama has a half-assed "Pride.BarackObama.org" site up, and he didn't even bother to parrot that weak non-support support on a tool to be used by young moderates and liberals who, presumably, know some actual gay people and wouldn't be at all offended by the idea that we might want protection against employment discrimination or housing discrimination or the ability to visit our partners in the hospital or ...

Sorry. I'm cranky today.
