"They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us."

How is this not a lie?

"The point is, they're scary, those Iranians! Just look at 'em! And Obama isn't scared enough of them. If Obama were ready to lead, he'd be pissing his pants in terror at the mere sight of those scary Iranians, just like I am right now! That's right, true Americans are not afraid to be afraid. In fact, we're the biggest bunch of knock-kneed, whimpering, bed-wetting candy-asses anywhere, and gosh-darnit, that's what makes this country strong."

"I approve this message."

Is it just me, or are they consciously using a James Earl Jones-sounding black voice-over to avoid accusations of...I don't know.

Everything's done for a reason...

Those darn Muslim Iranians. And is it just me, or is this the first time an add has actually said that big O is Dangerously unprepared?

umm...didn't a National Intelligence Estimate essentially back up Obama's point, that the administration had inflated the threat posed by Iran? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I guess maybe it's just me, but I don't see the big problem with Iran. They're like that guy down the block who sometimes gets into his rant about the Jews. He also hates your brother-in-law for some unknown reason, but most of the time he's an okay guy.

Hey Eli, what is the point of posting a McCain ad without any commentary at all? It seems like it is just spreading his message for him for free. I know most stranger readers are liberals, but still. Next time why don't you post some commentary with the ad, or at least call him a douche bag.

@10, EXACTLY!!! It does give McCain additional web space to have his ad posted on.

But I am still expecting McCain to claim Obama is a child molester by Thursday. Anything that happens Friday on to Tuesday, in terms of ads or speeches, will be pointless for either candidate.

@10: No commentary is required. McCain is calling himself a douchebag with this ad.

More people are going to take this as "McCain wants to go to war with Iran" than anything else. And is anyone dumb enough to be scared by this ad even give a shit about Israel?

I sure wish I could be a fly on the wall in the Senate Republican Cloakroom when McCain returns. I hope he has a handkerchief ready to wipe the spit of his colleagues off his face. And if I had lost my senate seat because McCain ran my party into the ground with his horrid campaign, I would seriously think about leaving the butchered head of an animal in his and Cindy's bed.

Iran fought Iraq to a stalemate for eight years. The Coalition invaded Iraq in six weeks. I guess I agree with Obama, Iran isn't a threat.

Do the Iranians have a Navy?
A strategic airlift capability?
Long-range strike aircraft?
Any way to get anything heavier than, say, a couple commandos and a 4x4 to the United States?

Then, no, they don't pose a threat to the United States. For the record, neither do terrorists. John McCain should know better. Bad Gimpy...no vote for you.

(No, I am not being sarcastic.)
