Does it bother anyone else those who are between 18 and 20, voting at the presidential level for the first time, and probably pretty excited at the prospect of doing so - can exercise their right to vote but can't get in to the showbox on tuesday to celebrate with everyone else? i'm not looking to score some booze -- as any college student will tell you, easily achieved with or without the help of the bartenders at the showbox -- i just want to celebrate with fellow citizens on the night the fate of our country is decided for the next 4 (and who knows how many more) years. sheesh. (washington liquor laws? go play in traffic before prop. 1 makes it go away.)

I'm in Victoria, and I'm thinking about taking the Clipper ferry down for the evening. A couple questions:
-Will I miss everything? The ferry gets in at 7:45pm about 9 blocks from the Showbox.
-Will there be a lineup at the Showbox?

I'm busing down from Vancouver for it. The presidential race might be called early, but there are still lots of other, much tighter races to follow. I suspect things will be buzzing pretty late.

The Spitfire Election Night Blowout Party

Hosted by SEIU, Dow Constantine, Peter Steinbrueck, and Fuzed Music

Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 5:00pm
Spitfire
2219 4th Ave
Seattle, WA

Join us for The Spitfire's Election Night Blowout Bash on Tuesday November 4, at Spitfire (2219 4th Ave). The party starts at 5 pm when election results start coming in from the East Coast—and goes all night. Come party with us as we celebrate the end of the Bush era, the beginning of the Obama generation. Celebrate Dino going down in flames to Gregoire, and watch the Dems make huge gains in the federal House and Senate.

Spitfire’s got 22 television screens, free wi-fi, and all sorts of drink specials. And a complete dinner menu so you can come early and stay late.

Spitfire is also the home of the Official Reuven Carlyle campaign party - come celebrate Reuven's election to the State House from the 36th District.

AND, after the Dem's are done with their Official party at the Westin, expect to see all the lively ones show up at Spitfire too!

And it's all free!

@4, Spam. Btw Spitfire, get some better waitresses. The service at the last Presidential debate was awful.
