We Finally Have Proof That God Hates the Patriots

posted by on September 8 at 13:21 PM

First the Patriots lose the Super Bowl to the lesser Manning and then this:

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will undergo surgery on an injured left knee and miss the rest of the season, the team announced Monday

I guess this is what I get for picking up Brady in the first round in one of my fantasy league drafts.

"Let the injuries commence!" indeed.

Brady, like all NFLers other than kickers, will retire with an SSI-eligible disability, and like all NFLers other than kickers will never be able to walk up a flight of stairs.

Theres been quite a few major injuries to star players. My girlfriend feels really bad about this cause she likes Brady.

I laughed so hard when the Patriots lost the Super Bowl... god that was funny.

He's still fucking Giselle right?

Boohoo.

Brady has had the fortune of dodging injuries his whole career. I feel bad for the Pats. But there's still a lot of talent on the team, and I wouldn't assume that they're done.

But, man, the number of season-ending injuries are at incredible levels now. The players are as huge, strong, and fast as ever and the resulting carnage is shocking.

I'm gonna call it now: The Pats look to Daunte Culpepper to fill in. Culpepper and Moss had some great chemistry back in Min., and I know they're looking for a veteran backup.

Culpepper recently announced his retirement—mostly because he couldn't find a backup job he wanted—but implied he might come back to fill in for a team devastated by injuries. Like New England.

You heard it here first.

@6 Actually, I heard TMR speculating about it on a podcast this morning.

I like that idea, though I'd rather see them sign a vet and put him behind Cassel. I'd like to see the (aging) kid get his shot.

I'd like to see them all get shot.

Then, Fnarf, they could fly up the stairs. Geeeeenius!

I too picked Brady in the first round with THE #1 pick. So sad.

I was wondering if I was the only one who tried to pick a draft rather than leave it up to fate.

I'll be sending out a trade proposal as will, I'm sure, some others with extra good quarterbacks.

(BTW, I was told by someone who's played awhile to make sure you are aware when teams have byes when choosing that weeks.)

Jonah could play QB for the Pats and they would go 8-8. Too much talent. Go Bills!

Hey elswinger, nice work on subbing in Forte for Jamaal, btw. That's FF coaching gold!

God does NOT hate the Patriots. He just wants to test Bill Belichick, as if he were some kind of modern day Job.

I'm sorry but anyone that picked brady as the #1 pick deserves what they have coming to them. Great running backs are so much better than mediocre running backs and the supply so limited that you'd be a goddamn fool not to take one of the top 5 backs in the top 5. Qb's are much closer to one another in stat performance and the drop off between great and good isnt that much.

As for Brady himself, the guy would have been one of the most watched by Defensive coordinators. I didn't see him having a year like he did last year.

Hey Ave, all of the really good RBs were gone in that draft. I was the 9th pick in a RB heavy league. I still ended up with:

Darren McFadden
Thomas Jones
Courtney Taylor (now perhaps even MORE valuable if he can CATCH THE FUCKING BALL!!!)
Terrell Owens
Wes Welker
Dallas Clark (also injured?)
Seahawks D/ST (fuckity fuck fuck fuck)
Stephen Gostkowski
Brett Favre
Bernard Berrian
Felix Jones
Anthony Gonzalez
Chris Johnson
Ricky Williams and the Jets D/St

As someone who has been recovering from my own ACL injury for the last year, I don't wish it on anyone.

This is what lesser gods call "karma".

The Patriots videotape the Jets in week one last season. Why the fucking JETS, I have no idea.

Then the Giants pull the biggest upset in super bowl history. The best quarterback to ever play the game goes to the Jets. Tom Brady gets injured.

Maybe there is a god.

I love watching Tom Brady cry.

GO GIANTS!

Jonah, It's not that he's your #1 pick, I meant #1 overall in the entire draft. That's lunacy!

oh, and jonah, deuce McAllister starting? WTF ?

@ 20— It was the Jets because they're in the same AFC division.

@ 22—FUCKING FUCKITY FUCK ESPN SAID HE'D BE STARTING!!!IT WAS A MISTAKE!!!

I also didn't start my rookies, which in retrospect was fucking stupid since they fucking killed it.

There's always next week. However, I still think I'm gonna win this week. I've got AP to play. I think he'll be good for 12 points or so.

#1, he can afford an elevator.

Will get to see what a genius Hoody is now.

I'm pissed that against half the teams in the slog league, we would have won this week. my GF and I probably wont win cause we have zack fucking miller playing today. 1 TD or 60 yards FTW!

I've had a really tough start with my fantasy football team. I got Brady as my starting QB and I got Vince Young as my backup. Then bam! Both get injured in the first game. :(

let's just say, before yesterday i wasn't expecting to be better off with jon kitna at qb than the guy who in my league who got tom brady.

Hey Jonah, are you cheating on our league? Up until five minutes ago the Seahawks D was mine!
