Update on the Race in the 36th

As of yesterday, Reuven Carlyle—one of two Democratic candidates for state representative from Seattle’s 36th District—was beating his opponent, John Burbank, by a margin of 4.4 percent—a lead of more than 1,200 votes. On primary election night last month, Burbank was leading Carlyle by 250 votes. The two candidates will both move forward to November’s general election under Washington State’s “top-two” primary system.

Guessing you meant 250 votes. It's hard to win an election by 250 points. :)

I live in the 36th, I voted for Carlyle in the primary, and I'll vote for him again in November. Burbank's "I'm the candidate sponsored by the Democratic Party, wah wah wah" emails drive me nuts.

Some of Burbank's yard signs say "Official Democratic Nominee." Is there really an Official Nominee? Or can either of them claim to be the official one?

I'm thinking the 18% who voted for that zany Republican will lean towards Carlyle since he's a business type and less a creature of the local Big D machine.

I would also like to see more writing about Carlyle's motorcycle. Or anybody's. Can you profile Twinlne Motorcycles more than once a year? Who says you can't?
