doesn't anyone review the headlines before they are published?
"While pit bulls make up only 4 percent of licensed dogs, they make up 22 percent of reported bites."
Just want to make sure this doesn't get missed by all the geniuses who think that a poodle or lab are out there just lying in wait to dismember and disfigure you.
"Cars drove by without stopping as she cried for help."
SeaTac, the new Kew Gardens.
Kitty Genovese
God it sounds like Palin attacking someone. Did the pit bulls have lipsticks on them?
For god's sake, ban the breed! That way, the only pit bulls out there will be illegal ones, ones for which the owners know they will be arrested for possessing. That way, the percentage of owned dogs will go down (yay breed bans! They work!), and the ratio of attacks will go up. (Boo pit bulls! See how deadly they are?!) And THEN, people will come up with a different breed of killer dog that isn't illegal, but just as "manly" to own/fight/chain/abuse, and we can ban that breed too! Yay misguided legislation!
at this point in the evolution of porn, every phrase ever invented in the english language is a double entendre.
A funny quote from the Seattle Times article:
"King County Animal Care and Control is investigating the attack and will determine whether [the dog owner] failed to follow a SeaTac ordinance requiring him to contain or muzzle his dogs."
Um - I wonder how long it will take them to figure this out.
So what Palin and a buddy strapped one on and fucked the shit outta McCain? I thought he was 72?
I read that article this morning and almost started crying in the coffee shop. That poor woman.
Le spent more than 10 hours in surgery Monday at the trauma center at Harborview Medical Center, where surgeons worked painstakingly to preserve her hearing and reattach her ears, both of which had been ripped from her head, Makus said. Her jaw was broken and her right arm and wrist were crushed beyond complete repair, he said.
Ditto @2's comment about poodles and labs ...
They need to be banned. It's true that the kind of person who "needs" four pitbulls will very likely seek out other aggressive breeds - but this particular breed has a demonstrated hyper-aggressiveness that is bred-in. Even when raised in a loving manner there is a greater chance of this occurring ie the "he was always a sweet loving dog, I don't know how this happened" so often said afterward. If a man had attacked this woman in such a manner we wouldn't be arguing whether legal action should be taken.
@12: True, we wouldn't be arguing whether legal action should be taken if a man had attacked this woman. But we also wouldn't be considering banning all men of his race.
