Art

Matthew Buckingham

Within each installation in Matthew Buckingham's exhibition at the Henry you will find three primary values: an art value, a political value, and a research value. The art value fascinates the eye, the political value stimulates the emotions, and the research value exercises the mind. In short, the experience of his remarkable work (on the birth of cinema, on 18th- century European feminism, on Mount Rushmore) is one that leaves you feeling very full. (Henry Art Gallery, 4100 15th Ave NE, 543-2280. 11 am–5 pm, $10.)

Show's closed, I'm afraid, as of the past weekend, but it's still worth going to the Henry for Liz Magor and the Violet Hour.
