Incredible is my middle name!

And no, I don't feel like letting it go.

That's actually a fairly impressive exchange with McCain. Bush would've never let it get that far with an audience member (if he'd even be allowed to ask a question). I think I prefer hearing the "100 year" comment out of context...

If McCain's kids were being killed he would not be so cavalier about the deaths of other people's children.

I agree that McCain is actually pretty impressive in that video. I know the town hall setting is where he thrives (as opposed to canned speeches), but man, what a difference. Almost reminds me of McCain2000.

And, the "it's not the presence it's the casualties" argument is not a bad one, politically speaking.

Check out this priceless letter to the editor in today's Seattle Times, following their endorsement of Barack Obama:

Editor, The Times:

According to The Seattle Times, with Sen. Barack Obama's "integrity" (he pretends to be something he is not), "judgment" (he associates with terrorists, racists, anti-Americans, extreme radicals and the corrupt) and "fresh ideas" (he is reiterating and advocating standard socialism), we can be assured that although his résumé is thin, he is the man to trust with our lives, our fortunes and our future ["Obama for president," Times, editorial, Sept. 21].

Americans, get ready to sign over your paycheck, your company profits, your savings, the money in your 401(k) or IRA and all of your possessions to your new messiah Obama because, after paying for his grandiose social-welfare schemes and wealth-redistribution programs, you won't have a dime.

After all, it isn't "fair" that some people have more wealth than others, and it isn't "neighborly" not to share the fruits of your labor. The darn capitalistic, free-market economy and self-governing democratic republic we have lived under for more than 200 years has proved to annoy Obama and, therefore, must be dismantled and destroyed for us to enjoy a new dawn of the Nanny state where our rights, freedoms, choices, decisions and responsibilities are determined by The One who knows what is best for us.

The "change we can all believe in" espoused by Obama is nothing more than socialism, the ugly destruction of human dignity and freedom.

@6,

At first I thought that name had to be a joke. Biggerstaff? But, alas, she exists.

Some other comments:

Source.

When so many RINO’s in Congress are more liberal than the ultra-leftist Democrats, you can bet without question taxpayers are going to be footing the bill to pay the health costs of more of the wealthy.

Since socialized medicine is a priority for Democrats, as long as they are the majority and with the help of the RINO’s, it will be our future.

And a comment directed to Ken Schram for a criticism of Ken Hutcherson's hate mongering:

You are the perpetrator of hate when you refuse to tolerate the obligation Christians have to believe what God has revealed.

I'm disappointed. Why didn't she go off on the gays' plan to take over the world in her letter to the Times?

@7: That latter quote makes this tidbit from her most recent letter especially amusing.

Elaine Biggerstaff:

After all, it isn't "fair" that some people have more wealth than others, and it isn't "neighborly" not to share the fruits of your labor.

vs. Elaine Biggerstaff:
You are the perpetrator of hate when you refuse to tolerate the obligation Christians have to believe what God has revealed.

vs. the Bible:
All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need.
- Acts 2:44

Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.” But he said to him, “Friend, who set me to be a judge or arbitrator over you?” And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” Then he told them a parable: “The land of a rich man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have no place to store my crops?’ Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, ‘Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.”

“Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
- Luke 12:13-21, 33-34

This is the word of life. Thanks be to God!
