Great, now I can have something I never use (Google Docs) on a type of phone I'd never buy.

You know what the best feature of my Virgin Mobile, $20 "cyclops" phone is? A speaker. Yes, my cell phone has a speaker so I can put it down and talk while lounging on the couch or while typing on the computer.

A speaker is the best innovation I've ever seen or heard of in a cell phone and yet, even those priced hundreds of dollars don't have them.

FINALLY a damn good ad that really fucking works. it's made to remind those who are in their late 40s and older that this is what would've happened to SS if McCain and the repugs privitized it like they wanted.

Next commercial should be about McCain's involvement in the Keating 5 Scandal that cost tax payers billions.

One of the better ads Obama has run. Now he needs to do an ad equating McCain with back alley abortions all over America.

Keep McCain on the defensive until election day and NEVER let up on McCain. Destroy the GOP once and for all!!!!

My last two phones have had speakerphone functions. It's pretty standard.

I called T-Mobile Customer Service and they have no info on the Android rollout except that it's on Tuesday. Bastards.

Best ad Obama has done yet. That's the group he needs to hit with the exactly the right message.

@5 et al.:

yes.

This is the way to go.

But Obama needs one short phrase repeated over and over to get the message out, too.

Yesterday he mocked McCain as being part of the old boys network.

That's a pretty good way to identify him with Wall Street, lobbyists, CEOs etc. That might be a good wrap -- repeat that then go into a different area with each ad.

The Old Boys Network gave us the S and L scandal.

The Old Boys Network got us into Iraq costing billions of YOUR MONEY.

The Old Boys Network want deregulation so they make millions while you LOSE YOUR HOME.

It also has a subtle class angle that is needed in American politics. We know it's really the Old Rich White Boys Network, but you don't have to say so.

McCain hitting Obama now for not taking a position on the AIG bailout. McCain's fighting on the economic terrain pretty hard.

Kondracke has good article pointing out that Obama spoke to Nasdaq months ago calling out for more regulation.
So it would seem Obama could say he was on top of this.

But, "Obama isn’t blaming McCain specifically for the crisis."

WTF????

McCain calling for firing of SEC chairman. That's sharp specific and responsive.

Is the Obama plan being put forward?? Does he truly just want a commission?

Once again, Obama's ad is deceptive. Bush's plan for Social Security reform was based on a DEMOCRAT's 1998 plan: the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan who called an inclusion of personal savings accounts. The White House stressed countless times that the privatization was an optional supplement in retirement accounts – not a total privatization.

@10: The Bush-backed plan was developed from a 1982 Libertarian plan, and was/is one of many:

Obama ought to run this add a hundred times an hour in Florida. That would tip FL in his favor quite nicely, I would think.

did you get dan's approval to "report" on the Iraq occupation, seeing as how you're all leftist?

remember dan said:
"...the American left refuses to back this or any war--which makes the left completely irrelevant... (Pacifism is faith, not politics.)"

and this:

"But wait! Taking out Saddam means dropping bombs, and dropping bombs only creates more terrorists!
That's the lefty argument du jour, and a lot of squish-brains are falling for it, but it's not an
argument that the historical record supports. The United States dropped a hell of a lot of bombs on Serbia, Panama, Grenada, Vietnam, Germany, Japan, and Italy. If dropping bombs creates terrorists, where are all the German terrorists? Or the Italian terrorists? Or the Vietnamese terrorists?"

hmmm? 7 more u.s. deaths and the terrorist count keeps rising.

@11: Correct. They all had an "opt-in" (for private supplemental accounts) which the last paragraph in that link "conveniently" forgets to note.
Certaintly "opting in" only makes sense for young to middle-aged workers. Nobody was advocating seniors and those without steady incomes to opt in.
