What the fuck? I saw those signs a few days ago and have been avoiding the park ever since for fear of the sight you describe. Pitiful. I realize the park, being built on artificial turf over a freeway, doesn't have the deep soil needed by these trees to send down the roots they need to grow to size. But there was some bullshit on the signs about "the original vision for the park". What's that, a concrete jungle with creeper vines? Fuck this city.
