Architecture That Aint Right

Poor Freeway Park, the best park in this city (a park as a work of urban theory), is being destroyed at this very moment. See for yourself:
The wonderful/magical/mysterious bushes are now just stumps, and an ugly chain-link fence has been mercilessly bolted to the concrete wall. It’s so ugly, so cruel to the eyes and imagination. The spell of this part of the park has been broken. The traffic and surrounding towers are exposed and raw. The whole situation is oppressive.
Read and weep:

Cheer up, Chuckster. Maybe they'll make a new park - with some of that sexy azz CONCRETE!
Mmmmm - that tent down there rising yet?
Oh Noez! Where will the homeless fuck now?
Concrete is A-OK, but a fence is offensive to all that you stand for!
I walk through Freeway Park almost every day. What the fuck? I saw those signs a few days ago and have been avoiding the park ever since for fear of the sight you describe. Pitiful. I realize the park, being built on artificial turf over a freeway, doesn't have the deep soil needed by these trees to send down the roots they need to grow to size. But there was some bullshit on the signs about "the original vision for the park". What's that, a concrete jungle with creeper vines? Fuck this city.
As someone who used to work for a public arboretum, I have a suggestion. Why don't you all call the helpful little phone number there on the sign and get more information instead of being all pissy and angry. I'm sure there's a good reason for this. ASK.
"We must remove the tree for the health and welfare of the tree."
In order to save the trees, it became necessary to destroy them.
Hey, it worked like a charm in Vietnam - why not in Freeway Park?
now the homeless won't want to hang out there - they hate chain link!
Is this more press indorsed prankage by the three musketeers?
