At the Target Center

They’re lining up outside the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis for Ron Paul’s Campaign For Liberty counter-convention.

Everyone here is a Republican who seems to hate McCain and everything he stands for—lots of the Paultards are wearing “Proud to be a Conservative Republican” buttons—but… we only ever hear about Democratic disunity. How come?

And, yeah, I only took that boy’s picture because he’s awful damn cute—so shoot me. No, wait. It’s probably not safe to type those words aloud in this crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, Ron Paul…

UPDATE: Talked to a few people outside the Target Center. Man, these Republicans hate George W. Bush almost as much as the average pepper-sprayed protester does. When I asked one woman—whose picture I won’t post—if George W. Bush, clearly unwelcome at John McCain’s convention, would be welcome to speak at Ron Paul’s convention, she said no. What if he showed up to wave at the crowd? “He’d be shot.”

Yikes. Now we’re across the street at the Hard Rock Cafe—so glamorous—having something that very nearly approximates lunch. Then we’re off to the Log Cabin Republican fete.

Does anything look stupider than lower-case type stacked vertically?

If I had to answer #2, I'd say the word stupider.

No teleprompters for Ron! I see he's going with old fashioned giant cue cards.

I wasn't aware that this was the sort of convention where cosplay was common. You learn something new every day.

Dan,
Where is the log cabin event? I've been hoping to snag some repressed republican ass. Its the only reason I'm even remotely excited about the RNC.

To all the Obama Kool Aid drinkers, have fucking fun in the FEMA concentration camps when shit DOES NOT CHANGE AT ALL under Obama (by the way, the largest one exists in this state in Okanogan county along the Canadian border that can house hundreds of thousands of people--guess they realized the Pacific Northwest are a bunch of coward bitch Baby Huey motherfuckers as they steamrolled over you with jackboots in the 99 WTO riots to see how Seattle would respond to martial law). As the FBI were the ones who gave bombs to the blind sheik in the first WTC bombing in '93 (you can find the original videos on youtube), and the obvious inside job involvement of 9/11 (how do two planes take down three buildings into pulverized concrete falling at free fall speed?--unless the WTC was suspended in some prism of physics magic for 24 hours), Obama WILL be presented with another black op 9/11 type event in the first year of his presidency as history has shown the last two presidencies that this is the case. As Allen Dulles, first director of the CIA fired by JFK for the Bay of Pigs fiasco, stated, "Intelligence agencies do not work for the good of a nation the public presumes they are supposed to protect, they have been and will always be about securing unfettered corporate access to natural resources." And lets take a look at Obama's main foreign policy advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski...Russia player hater and Cold War dinosaur extraordinaire. This is a man that A)Formed Al-Qaeda (or rather Al-CIA-duh) B) Bragged about funding Pol Pot via China and the Cambodian genocide and C) Now wants to wave America's nuclear dick in Russias face after American and Israeli mercs were caught red-handed slaughtering South Ossetians 24 hours before Russia even set foot in Georgia (but you would never know if you did not bother to look at the news feeds from any other country in the world except the US and UK). Obama would not be where he is today if he did not prostitute himself to the military industrial complex long ago and his stance on FISA, Russia, and Iran only prove this in spades. Ron Paul was actually the closest candidate to JFK in this election (both JFK and Ron Paul advocated an end to the Federal Reserve currency cartel and smashing the CIA into a thousand pieces, the actions which got Kennedy deep sixed), but you leftards are just as stupid and vacuous as the neocon/neonazi brownshirts. The democrats had a chance with Dennis Kucinich but you fucked up again, proving since JFK that the democrats have been the party of gatekeepers. People had better snap the fuck out of that dream that somehow people that run the show here are less malevolent than the ruling classes throughout history and break the fals left-right paradigm that has been raging the last 50+ years. The rulers of the planet know American's are the stupid cows of the planet that can be punched in the head, fleeced blind, and hijacked for imperial wars, and Seattleites are no less retarded than Southern Californians or Texans. I suggest Obama immediately strip all of the Bush Sr. executive orders and continuity of government plans within his first year of office as these are prizes too great for the fascists in this country to ignore. Once again, sound money, no foreign intervention, ending the drug war, freedom from religion, and freedom of the internet and speech are derided. Paul had no chance, but I still voted for him because his core ideas of caring for the actual American people are above the ideals of big government. Save your disdain for the neocons. I'm voting for Obama because his foreign policy is way less dangerous and having a dissenting opinion will be safer. So Paul has the truthers and the free-staters. So what? McCain has the warmongers and jesus freaks, Obama has commies, anarchists, and Charles. Every candidate has freaks, Paul's just act out in a little more crazy way than the others (see 14 above). Not all of his supporters are like that. It's just that RP does not believe in silencing anyone for political gain. He rightly thinks everyone in America has the right to say what they want as long as no hurt is placed on their neighbor. Unlike in McCain and Bush's Amerika. Just ask the people in St. Paul.

Seeing the pics of Gwen Ifill of PBS Newshour being tear-gassed and the other major media being beaten up by the cops was almost as priceless as the pics of the Libertarian anarchists destroying property at the out-of-control Republicant Convention.

How 1968 of them.

What must it take for a person to be persuaded to so enthusiastically defame their fellow countrymen in defense of a policy of murdering hundreds of thousands of humans in order to steal their resources?
